My Paintathon entries

I have uploaded my entries for the Groundforge Paintathon competition. The photos are taken using a simple diffusion box I made. They are basically better in all aspects than my previous photography, but I\'m having a few problems getting all parts of the mini in focus. There always seem to be some small part of the mini that\'s slightly blurred. Nothing catastrophical though. Any suggestions of how I might avoid this is most welcome.

Anyway, here is my entry for the fantasy category:
71619
71620 (multiple views)

And here is my entry for the sci-fi category:
71621

Comments are as always much appreciated!:)

You are just too good now I fear my chances in the paintathon have dwindled to less than zero.
Seriously though they are very nice minis I like a lot the Drune I think the NMM on that mini is stunning.

Wow Anders, they look really good both of them. My favourite is the sci-fi entry though, I\'d like to see him together with the scribe you did before. What a nasty little couple ;)

Thanks!!

@tidoco
I wouldn\'t be so pesimistic. Your entry is a great one!

@Astonia
I might do a group photo, but I want to paint the third member of the group first, the Hierophant. He is probably the nastiest of them all!:D

Wowee, the paintathon is getting really challenging. I\'ve just started on my fantasy entry, got the sci-fi one fully assembled waiting priming.

But I really love the drune, great basework and the NMM is superb !

Great stuff!

These look really good, the Drune character is very well painted indeed, love the tones and subtle highlighing, the weapon blade is smooooooth..... I like the Astropath too, again nice tones and great colour scheme. The bases however are my favourite, simple yet very effective!
I was tempted to enter this paintathon too, less for the non-existant chance of winning than the taking part! (not entered any comps before at all).

Cheers

Yep, agreed :D I would love to enter a painting contest, but there is virtually no way to do it; as soon as it is announced on CMON, I might as well save me the hassle and just go on with my life, my minis would get raped by the other entries ;)
Actually, Ritual, you are the reason I do not partake in the Groundforge paintathon. I painted the same Persecutor but at least I play the game so I have some use for him ;) You are great, your minis are stunning. Two thumbs up from me!

Great job on the NMM for that drune guy. My fantasy entrie for the contest is almost done now I need to finnish the base for it :flip: But fear not you won\'t be challenged by my mini, unless I become an instant overnight painting god :p

Don\'t let the quality of stuff put you off entering! I\'m gonna send everyone some goodies for taking the time to enter and allowing me to display their work - it is greatly appreciated (it\'s also fun getting entries pop up in my email!) :)

Yes, but... I know I can\'t possibly win anything, or even get any other place if not the last one. So if I enter in your competition, I would basically just do it to get something for nothing, right?
So I\'m not going to do it.

Thanks everybody! Your comments mean a lot to me. Really!

BTW, I have been noticably sniped for the firtst time! From 8.9 to 8.2 in just a few votes... That\'s sort of flattering! :D

my favourite is the fantasy entry, a really dark and menacing guy, technically almost flawless... great job!
