I\'m pretty happy with the green, I call that finished ( I still have 9 more to do and I paint as fast as a snail, and I\'m not a very good painter so this is my highest standerd at the moment)

The picture from the left view is how the axe also looks at the right, but the flash of the camera has blurred it in the right view picture.

I\'ll make the axe less rusty and also sharpen/highlight the edges, I just \'rusted\' it as much as possible at the moment.

So, what do you think of it so far? Any tips on painting them (sick parts,fur, flesh,horns) is highly appreciated!

I\'d say highlgiht the green a bit more in the high places, it\'ll give the mini more contrast and better overall appearance .

Does anyone thniks that I should \'dirty\' them? I mean, they\'re chaos-infested beasts, they don\'t wash their clothes everyday:drunk:

If so, how could I do that?

To dirty the cloth, thin washes of brown ink and perhaps flick some watered down reds and browns on the bottom edges to represent blood and mud etc,

Paintind your fur on the beast, you could do it 1 of two ways that i would, graduall drybrushing being carful of the painted green, or highlight each tuft of fur, i prefer the last method,

Looking good! I personally like the rusty looking metallics, and think they fit in with the Nurgle theme.

I usually paint my models from the \'inside out\' - meaning I would paint the skin (or in this case fur) first, then the first (closest to skin) layer of clothing next, then the 2nd etc. This way there is less chance of getting paint on the green cloth and ruining it when you do the fur.

I think dirtying up the clothes is a good idea.

One technique I stumbled upon that may be useful to you is to use a wash of watered down Vallejo German Grey. It has a nice grimey look that works well with lighter colored cloth and may be just what you need here.

Combined with a brown wash it should make things suitably icky.

Sorry everyone for not posting some more photo\'s, I was very busy with everything but painting.

However, I managed to paint some blood on the axe, give the green 1 more highlight and painted the brown a bit.

I don\'t have any plans for tomorrow except for painting, so expect some updates tormorrow!

I didn\'t bother to take more view photo\'s because I thought the painting was more important. The axe isn\'t very visible because of the flash, I\'ll have to find a solution for that later.

However, I did manage to find my first painted Beastmen ( around 2 years ago I painted it I guess ) and took a photo of it next to my current Pestigor:

Not a good photo, but I didn\'t want to waste too much time on it. I think I quite improved a bit, thanks to CMON probably. please note that the white power isn\'t some kind of drug, it\'s salt in ink to see if I like that result ( from an GW article here: http://uk.games-workshop.com/beastsofchaos/painting/3/ ) and to put that on my Pestigor\'s axe:drunk:

I\'ll rust-up the axe again and work further on the brown clothing. I hope to show more progress soon!

here is an advice for you... when highlighting, you should only use extreme highlighting on the edges of a subject, so for cloth for example, you shouldn\'t use extreme highlights for rinkles in the cloth. I think you should start working with adding a small drop of when you mix and make a smooth transition, you might even start blending right away!
I tell you, the one technique you will have to use most... after highlighting of coarse.. is blending, those two are some good shortcuts to become better faster

Someone on another forum advised me to put pictures instead of links in my posts, so here are the latest 2 updates but now as pictures:

I\'ll probably do the green today. Also, I want to finish/almost finish the brown clothing today, so I can finally start with some other parts.

Which parts would you choose? I still can paint:

- Fur
- Rotting stuff
- Flesh
- Hooves >
- Horns > should these be similiar?
- Wood

Well, I though about it but it didn\'t work out the way I wanted to on my test piece, and I\'ve allready spend so much hours on this on ( believe it or not) so I didn\'t want to start it all over again if I had screwed it up.

I\'m still trying the salt on test pieces though...
