My recent life in a nutshell

Well, as long as we\'re getting stuff off our chests, here goes:

My wife and I separated just over a year ago when her ex-boyfriend came back into
the picture. After having moved out, she and he were living in our house and let it lapse. We\'ve had to let it go in foreclosure. Still waiting to file for divorce.

To make matters worse, he\'s the biological father of my son, so now my son has two dads. I\'ve always been supportive of him seeing Ethan, but it\'s been creating a bit of stress.
After letting the house lapse, they moved across town so that instead of 10 minutes to pick up my kids -I have them half the time- it now takes an hour. Each way.

My big plan to move last month closer to the kids has been derailed as my grandfather fell ill and passed away last month. So between a few trips back and forth to Seattle, and helping my
grandmother with a couple of her bills, I no longer have the money.

Which also delays yet again my plans to adopt my daughter.

Now my grandmother is ill and they don\'t know why. In addition, yesterday I found out that my ex-wife\'s grandmother passed away. Great lady with lots of chutzpah. Funeral is Saturday.

Jim, like you I too am wondering why I\'m collecting little toy soldiers when I don\'t paint anymore and even putting them together is a chore as I\'m just not finding the desire to do much. And as you know I too am turning 40 at the same time you are.<g>

Wow, I haven\'t told all that to anybody. Thanks for letting me get that out.

Saying (or typing) things out loud seems to take some of its power away. Very cathartic!

Sorry for your woes!

Maybe playing with little toys is EXACTLY what we do need....

Wow, guys everything seems so complicated for people atm.

I hope things look up for you soon (Vike and Zora especially sounds real tough)

Rev my guess would to be reach out to your friend, its always worth patching up something that means something.

to describe my life at the moment, would be too describe it as good. But It could have been a lot worse, i celebrated a year anniversary of the car crash that nearly killed me last week, followed by the first birthday of my niece. If i had have died in my accident (which i came close to) i would have never seen her as she was born while i was in my second lot of surgery. I have a second niece due next month, so twice the youngster fun. Erm i split with my girlfriend of two years last july, so thats nearly been a year, but i have found a new girl who has quite taken me and after quite depression from about may to september last yer i feel really well. i am ready to finish my second year of university, and i have made an effort to speak to many friends as well as new people, i have a new outlook on life and it is paying off. Injuries wise my body healed fully and now im regularly at the gym and am quite fit again, soon i will be starting playing football (soccer) again. And of course i returned to mini painting (still no pictures up yet tho sorry)

Good man Rev, always guaranteed to raise a smile (or eyebrow).
Knew you\'d be chuffed re: Cardiff and Wales - sport\'s tremendously anodyne. (What, no mention of Calzaghe?)

My life\'s really dull... and that\'s just how I like it. I\'m a simple soul.
Last year I got headhunted by our major competitor and took on a scary new job. Was really depressing for first few months but I learned various coping mechanisms (ie investing in a \'give a shit\' meter) and now everything\'s dandy. My lovely longsuffering wife gave birth to baby number five and life is good.
Broke my hand last week playing five-a-side (punching the door - you\'d think ten year\'s boxing would have taught me how to throw a punch  ) means can\'t box, go to the gym or play guitar for a long period but on the flipside have started painting again. Oh and I\'m playing Mario Kart on the Wii a bit too much and drinking a tad too much expensive whisky.

Hope life continues to be good for ye... oh and take up Bill\'s offer of the fish :bouncy:

You voted BNP????

Don\'t be daft Reverends in Wales.
It\'d be Plaid Cymru. <spelling>

I am a proud Welshman and I love my little country but nothing on this earth would make me vote for them, they are just the Conservative party with a wesh sounding name ;)

I hope it helps getting stuff off your chest. I reckon you should invest some time in yourself when you can. There\'s got to be stuff you always wanted to do, but couldn\'t for one reason or another. Get out there, and get it done!

I hope things pick up for you asap.

Vincenti, that\'s the point of it all: it\'s all good already! The rough comes and you have to take it with the smooth. It\'s all good and even when it wasn\'t so good it was hardly tragic. I\'m an optimist I suppose :D

Logan - quality stuff mate, and well done on your 5th. Are you on some kind of crusade to populate the planet?

Cheers though mate, appreciated.

AND BY THE WAY, my mate got a message to me and apologised unreservedly. That was good!

Offer me a decent socialist arrangement and I\'d bite your hand off for it :D. It doesn\'t exist right now, so I go with my heart instead...

Wow, I come here for the first time in a long while and find alot of my old friends are going though what Ive been going through the last year and a half.

May as well add to this party..

In October of 2006, my wife of 20 years decided to leave me for another man. Actually I take that back... she left the entire family for another man. took a few clothes, the car and nothing else. The divorce was final June 1st last year (our 21st anniversary would have been the day before.. go figure)
This devestated my daughter who was very close to her mom; more best like best friends than mother and daughter. She went from spending every day with her to barely talking to her once a month. Put her in a very deep depression.

I cant say I was a great dad at the time either. I was intent on dealing with my own issues and trying to get my now cold feet back into the dating scene.
Due to my innattention, my daughter decided that life would be better if she didnt live it at all. thank God she failed in her attempt.
Many weeks of intense therapy and some medication I can now say she has made a miraculous recovery. I am so very proud of her right now.
Ohh.. Im doing pretty good now as well :)

So many sad tales. I hope those that are struggling find things get better soon and those that have come through a rough time, may it keep on going well for you.
