My recent life in a nutshell

Right, sod this you miserable set of oiks! :D

Our mission to the other side of the world has been a revelation. The place is beautiful and the people are fantastic. There\'s just a nice vibe to the place and no undercurrent of impending violence that I always used to feel back in Leeds and Bradford.

Money goes a long way out here, so no more nagging financial responsibilities - house is paid for and all our debts are gone. Landed a nifty job getting paid to learn loads of new stuff and I\'ve just bought a car I\'ve wanted for 10 years or so.

Going to give it a year or so and I might even knock full time work on the head and try to get people to buy some prints or paintings. Maybe set up doing some photography and advertising work. The world is my lobster as it were! :D

Only downside is that we left a few people behind and won\'t get to see them very often. Hopefully the draw of a cheap holiday to NZ/Oz will get them down here to see us at some point.

If anyone\'s on tour round NZ and needs a place to crash....

Oh, our container arrived a week or two ago, and every single thing was in the same condition as it left the UK as well. Bonus!!!

I like to think I highlighted a lot of positives too! Really speaking, I was trying to show that my life is, as it nearly always has been, very good indeed.

Glad NZ is working for you chief.

To the young man I let rip at: accept my apologies if you will - I had no idea of your age. Sorry!

Tim: I\'ll triple post as much as I want damn it! Don\'t you know who my father is? Darth Vader! Aye, and he\'s a hard bastard! lol

You jammy so and so!
Haven\'t you got a tale of woe instead?
If I didn\'t have a thousand and one kids who would hate me forever if I took them to the other side of the world, I\'d be gone too.
Mate of mine emigrated to Canada last year and his tale is similar to yours, no mortgage, new car, nice people, clean cities etc.
Mind you, I work in Bradford and everyone says it has improved immeasurably since some Brummie bloke disappeared- don\'t know who they were talking about lol

Eh, mines not a tale of woe, more a tale of wait.

After much consultation with the GF, I\'m going back overseas - as soon as they give me a date. Thus the wait, which I hate.

Other than that there\'s been a couple of bumps in the road, but thats whats to be expected of life after all.

my recent life also

sorry to hear about your grandad but nice to see lifes looking up, my last two years have consisted of mostly downs, having just comes to terms with a incurable desiese. my 8 year old son was attacked by a loose american pit bull (banned in england, supposedly) he had major plastic surgery to repair whats left of his thighs, undergoing 1 1/2 years of further physio, hospital and seeing child psychologist.
we had already booked a dream holiday to florida and booked behind scenes tours with differant animals which he loved but due to the trauma would not interact with anything that had teeth. whilst on holiday my wifes brother died so returned to a funeral, few weeks later my 17 year old son was mugged and had a brick smashed into his face.
christmas eve lost a good friend who had a heart attack after a night out,
bit later father in law diagonosed with throat cancer, operated on a few weeks later but had gone to far, recently passed away after a great deal of pain and suffering.
daughter then lost our first granchild.
next, wifes mother had 2 falls breaking both hips and now confined to bed for rest of life due to age and unable to repair them enough.
wifes eldest brother finds out he has smokers diseise and can bearly breath.
eldest son mugged and badly beaten up by a gang for his money and mobile ending up in hospital.
to cap it all this week wifes second brother had a stroke and is in hospital.
think i must have been gengis khan in a previous life:cry:
on the upside daughter had her white wedding she dreamed off and saved hard for, then presented us with our first grandson:drunk: downside is wife cant walk past baby clothes without buying something:no:

Hmmm...seem to have run out of nutshells. Here\'s 2008 so far for me in a corn husk.

started a brand new job in January after floating from one place to another after being made redunant in 2005. Jobs going good and is finally a career and I\'m a bit of my own boss.

Moved into a brand new house in March moved quite up the scale from a tiny first buyers to a big house for life one. Place is lovely fully of oldworldy goodness.

Moved my wedding forward from October of 2009 to November 2008 (scary) so soon to be a husband!!!!

Spending a lot more time with my Uncle my auntie died last year and he was really bad for while, nice to see a smile coming back.

Never painted so much in a long time, really glad to get back big time into the hobby.

Had a very sh*t 2007 so glad to see the curve finally going in the right direction.

To all those going through a rain cloud at the moment, the sun will eventually shine again.

Cheers

That\'s a horrible couple of years, Death Korps. And to share it for your first post on the forums. I hope you stay around and the lives of you and your family are now on an up.

I lost my friend to NZ (Spacemunkie/Scott) (even though we spend most of our time abusing each other and it\'s often 3-6 mths in between visits, but it\'s the distance!!!)

Rev: we all have \'annus horriblis\', mine was a few years ago (separated from the missus, Grandfather died and my car was stolen, to name but a few).

Now I am back with my wife with a 2 year old boy (that stops me posting on internet forums) and I never get to go out for beers or dinner with my lady! I have a demon on my display cabinet, so life really is a rollercoaster (cliche) but it is true.

Remember the phrase I used to say when I was smacked by my parents \"I\'m still happy!\" (true, often while crying).
