ok... I recently picked up an airbrush... and it is giving me one hell of a time. Recently the double action on it stopped working. The single action still works, but no paint comes out of the double action anymore. Also the regulator on the compressor that I got doesn\'t attach to the compressor. Even though it all came in the same box, the adaptors provided will not fit together in any possible way to attach the regulator. My airbrush is an Aztec and my regulator is a model maker mini air compressor. Please help me... I am a noob when it comes to airbrushes.

Ummm I dont know anything about the Aztec.. you should of bought Iwata 
Have you taken it apart and throughly cleaned it?
Are you spraying acrylics? or enamels in it? if acrylics get some amonia and mix up a solution of 20% amonia to water.. start running it through your airbrush and clean it out.. thenuse the mixture between every use and color change.

Back when I dabbled in airbrushing (with a single-action Badger), I would actually remove the needle and clean out the whole inside after every use. Laborious but it worked. It may be more difficult to do with a double-action though.

All depends on what you want to achieve. I can\'t see using a airbrush to do anything but primer miniatures and maybe put base coats on space marines. I airbrush would make more sence in painting vehicles and terain. There many techniques for airbrushing.. Id suggest looking at WW2 armor modeling books and websites for tips and uses.
Cleaning you brush constantly is very importand, so is properly thinning your paints when spraying. Paint that is to thick will only cloag your needle or cause spattering.

I use an airbrush all of the time. You have to reverse your thinking of brush painting. You have to think of painting transparent filters instead of traditional shading and highlighting.

very common with the little cartridge sets that the Aztec uses. Prefilter your paint with a piece of panty hose. Flush longer when you are done - add detergent to your flush water - follow with Createx airbrush cleaner. Also, you can actuall disassemble an Aztec cartridge, gently pull the plastic retainer out the back and the spring & needle will follow. Clean and reassemble.
If you count set up and tear down, it is the other way around. But you can base coat an army faster than with a brush.
