My Stuff...some things done some things WIP

A week or two ago I thought about posting my minis on some international forums. So today I finally found the time to take some pictures of my latest three paintjobs. Here they are:

BatOrc-002.jpg

Plague-Bearer-001.jpg

Nurgle-Hexer-001.jpg

I also give you the links to my picasa webalbums with more pictures of the minis. Feel free to have a look at all my other albums there. Well here are the links:

http://picasaweb.google.de/DonKlausens/BatOrc#

http://picasaweb.google.de/DonKlausens/PlagueBearer#

http://picasaweb.google.de/DonKlausens/NurgleHexer#

The BatOrc is a sculpt by Badsmile and the Plague bearer a sculpt by TIN. Both miniatures are availabe at http://www.tinsbits.com/webshop/ .

I just wanted to show the minis to you, because I thought they might inspire you. If you’ve got any questions concerning how I’ve done this and that on the mini, just ask I will answer them if I remember how I did it…

My home base forum is das-bemalforum and we are always joyful when international painters post their minis in our international corner of the forum:

http://www.das-bemalforum.de/viewforum.php?f=44

I\'ll update this thread every now and then, so stay tuned.

Thanks for any comments and I would be happy to see your paintjobs in our forum.

Last weekend I\'ve been at the event called \"Herzog von Bayern\" in bavaria, germany. My display with both the nurgle minis, the batorc and an one year old mini of mine took bronze in the fantasy master category. But this was not the best part of my weekend, because the hole event was just amazing. The event took the hole weekend so I had plenty of time to talk to lots of people, look at the miniatures from a distance between nose and mini of 1mm and to have fun. There were lots of miniatures in a real high standard from all around europe. IT WAS AMAZING!

So I can only recommend visiting the event next year to you all, it\'s really a journey worth (my journy took from north germany to Ingolstadt about 8 hours...).

Here is a link to my picasa web album with loads of photos:

http://picasaweb.google.de/DonKlausens/HvB#

And also a link to the homepage of that event:

http://www.kuenstler-figur.de/index.php?Termin

and a link to their gallery:

http://www.kuenstler-figur.de/index.php?gallery-97

So I hope to see you there next year.

Cheers
Renton (my nick in all other forums is Begbie, but only in this forum, someone else got it)

Well after talking to Ben and bidding him not to peek I decided to show you WIPs of my project for the german Games Day. These are the latest pictures of them but I already corrected some parts. Here you go:

http://picasaweb.google.de/DonKlausens/Barbies?authkey=Gv1sRgCJesifWgx-O29gE#

I show them to you, so that the people who will participate in the german GD in this category will be inspired to give even more than I do, meaning I would like to loose against your beautiful regiments!

I will update the WIPs every now and then.

Thanks for any comments.

Small update. I\'m done for now with the skin. Coloured glazes (red, green, purple...) , wounds and stuff still have to be done.

Here the link:

Trousers will be next, next week I think.

Thanks for any comments.

oooh nice !!

Love the regiment, looks very dynamique. The skin is good too, could maybe use some darker shades, but that\'s mostly because I imagine marauders to be rather tanned :p

I’m sorry to have to tell you all this, but I won’t finish the marauder unit for the german GD. This is due to a neck disease which got worse. So the time I can spend at my desk, I have to use for learning for my studies. This means until my neck is cured, I make a painting pause. Hopefully it only takes a couple of month but it might take longer.

When everything is allright again I will dig out this thread and continue painting.

Longtime no see…this is my second mini after a two year break. After dozens of tries to make a proper photos , my lack of skill and my aversion to photoshop them, I had enough and stated the photos as okay for me. Crappy but okay.

So here`s the link without further blah blah:

It’s a weeeee conversion of the Corporal of the Louisiana Tigers by Elite Miniaturas. Hope you like him.
Comments of all kinds are welcome.

Hi, It looks nice, as you says the pictures are not the best, seems to be a little lacking of contrast in some areas atleast on my screen. If I would change something it might be to make more colour to the face, with a closer picture on the details we would be able to give more comments.

But a good start after a 2 year break, Welcome back :)

Well here are some neeewwww picsies from my GD Germany 2012 Duell. Between the Cowboy and the Duell I painted two more figures which I'm not allowed to show yet (if ever...).At this years GD there were loads of entries with a very high painting standard, there weren't even enough finalpins for them...

So without further ado some not sooooo good pictures of my entry:

After the project I can say I would have done a lot different. Starting with the central ray to the whole base+mini arrangement concept and the conversions. But I am satisfied and I learned a lot out of my many mistakes.

So hope you like it and thanks for all critiques, especially the constructive ones.

Hey there folks!

Here are my three latest projects. First the pictures then the talk. Here you go:

Hexer05.jpg

https://picasaweb.google.com/110256797700741183454/Hexer#

Nurgling01.jpg

https://picasaweb.google.com/110256797700741183454/Nurgling#

Pirat05.jpg

https://picasaweb.google.com/110256797700741183454/Pirat#

The wizardy guy and the wee nurgle one were fast projects and the pirat took a bit longer. Well for the wizard I tried to paint textures on the clothes...I kind of like how it turned out. The nurgle was a present for a friend, painted in 4 hours. I really like the horns and the eyes. The pirat was a practice mini for finelining...well it's more thicklining then finelining...got to practice moooooooore...but seeing the contrast grow during painting the pirat stimulated me so much I had a nerdgasm.

A friend helped me out with his camera to take the pictures. They are better than my usual ones, but we still have to practice. So they are not crappy anymore I think, but still not so good.

Well hope you like them. Any critics are welcome, especially constructive ones.

ah yeah i remember that duel from games day, really cool. very hard category this year (like all the other categorys too i guess... lol)

i really like the wizard even if the texture is hard to see in that picture. not really sure about the chocolate water though, but it look tasty :D is it liquid water effect? ive noticed its very easy when you color it to add too much paint, thats why i didnt use any colour on the water effect at my toad duel.

anyway, its all solid paintjobs me thinks

Thanks for the critic. Well the water on the base of the wizard is one component water effect and its supposed to be red like a pool of blooooooood. It's just watereffect, clear red and a weeeeeeeeee bit of black ink. Well with my red/green-colour deficiency it looks red to me on the photos...dammit...I keep your tip in mind for the next time. Thanks. The water effect itself shrunk so much that the two heads in the pool made bumps from the inside. Never again 1-component-water-effect.

I love pirates! Yours looks amazing :)
What do you mean by finelining? Adding succesive glazes to build up a colour for highlighting and shading or...?
Keep it up!

By finelining I meant the freehand on the back of the cloak. I wanted the lines to be real thin but due to that I'm new to the technic, they turned out thick. Well the technic is just a technic how to hold your brush to paint really thin lines as a freehand. GeOrc showed it to me when I visited him. Hope you get what I mean.
