My two latest...

I just recently finished my first two (of probably 4 total) Cadian Snipers, for my Space Marine scout squad, and I\'ve gotten some good feedback on other forums, but I\'d also like to hear what the people here have to say... so far I\'ve gotten about ~20 votes, but no comments on the CMON entries, so here they are:

Like the entires say, they are my 6th and 7th miniatures, and really, the first of my miniatures that I am actually satisfied with... but moreso the second one (the one that\'s standing).

So far, I\'ve gotten suggestions to add atleast one more layer to the cloaks, but probably two... also need to refine my black highlighting, as the rifles look absolutely horrid :/

The blue cloaks seem to catch alot of flak, but I have my reasons for them... first, the scout squad is named \"The Nightfall\", so I limited myself to night-like colors... at first, I did try green and tan, but they just didn\'t work with the other colors in my preferred pallete (as the colors for my marines is blue, grey and silver).

So... I would really like to hear what ya\'ll have to say... and if my constant begging of comments gets to be too much, feel free to tell me STFU... I know how the babbling of a newbie can be irritating.

Thanks in advance, everyone...

Well, the blue cloaks are great, nice smooth painting and highlighting. Ditto with the gray cloth, at least on the second one, the first one\'s clothes look a bit flat.
As for stuff to work on, try to add a few more highlights on the face, black, and smooth out the metals a bit more.

Good job overall, especially for your 6th and 7th minis!! :)

You seem to have gotten the idea of highlighting, so just practice practice practice where that is concerned.

You should, however, try working on those skin tones. I\'d suggest working up from a darker colour.

Good job for minis 6 and 7 !!

Thanks for the advice... I agree with the black... I\'m having a hard time getting the hang of highlighting it :/ (don\'t know what I\'ll do when it comes time to paint my chappy...)

About the flesh tones... I have to say that the camera/lighting made them look alot more yellow than they really are, but you\'re right.. they need more highlighting.. I just didn\'t feel confident enough to do some of the really small parts.. as it is now, it only has two highlight layers (bronzed flesh base, washed with flesh ink, highlighted with bleached bone+bronzed flesh, then again with 50/50 bleached bone/bronzed flesh)

thanks again, guys! :D
