Hey fellas, decided to make a short WIP for the kiddies that I try to help during paint evenings at the local gaming store. Nothing amazing but Id still like your take on the progress and any feedback as to how I can implement other techniques that I might have overlooked. Hints, tips, nudges in the right way is most appreciated. As mentioned please consider that it is work in progress.... :)

Tbh, its a really nice tutorial for a really solid tabletop model. Using the washes to speed things up (save for drying time) is a great idea for people learning how to paint, so its great that you show this technique to extreme, but great effect.

Thank you for the kind words Aureo! :)
Any pointers as to take this mini to a new level? Subtle or big, it's all helpful.

One detail that I looked at could be improved is the joints from the diffrent parts of the model, you could proberbly smoothen them out more so that the arent visiable in the end results. Otherwise a great looking model and I cant give you any advise on the painting sincce my work is not up to that standard yet.

I'm terribly sorry about the joints, the model was supplied to me glued and assembled. I know its not a real excuse but yeah i agree with you. ^^

Now I dont claim to know the best way to paint fast models to a good quality but I've seen sterbenz do similar to what ill describe in the store. His wip threads would be a good place to look for ideas too.

For quick models I might only suggest to glaze it slightly just to blend the dry brushing together a bit more with your midtone so its not as dusty, you know? The other thing you could try on a new project is to grab 3 or 4 colors, base, shadow, highlight, possible extreme highlight, and use like the foundations for the shadow or base, to get fast coverage over primer. Either wash shadows in like you did already or build up from the shadow using extreme highlighting to pull out the details similar to how GW does them.
