Hi. I have come here to see if I can get any help in my NMM skills and all other painting areas. Here is the WiP of an orlock gang leader and I have tried non metallic metal for the first ever time on his leg. Please tell me how to improve it as I know it is far from good

i thought the same thing. I thought it was a reflection of the light on the camera, but after staring at it for awhile, you can see the blends. Great work on the NMM.

OK I worked more on this guy today and yesterday, even using up my revision time to do so :D everything is painted on this mini, nothing is sculpted

Sorry it is still in a link, the picture also decided to grow darker from kodak picture editor to here :p

I agree, it looks good. The first, close-up shot does reveal some rough transitions between the different layers, but I think you have the idea right. I\'m not sure how to help you with the transitions - I run into the same problem. Maybe a very thin glaze of grey to soften the transitions?

Maybe someone with more experience can give more useful advice...(hint)

wow thanks for the comments. Hopefully this guy will get me a rating of 6 or more! It would then earn it\'s place as no.1 best painted by me :D

6??? Personally I think if the mini is entirely painted like the second picture, then it should receive an 8 with ease. I wish I could get a rating that high. :(

Hopefully you can see the amount of highlights I have done on his upper body, if you can\'t see the arm highlights then it is obviously too dark.

P.S my monitor makes things darker anyway so I can\'t really tell.

It looks good, but it really could have used more highlighting on the areas other than the metal. The imprecise stripes on the sword are very obvious as well. That initial metal was looking like an 8, but the other parts are going to hurt your score... they affect the overall impression quite a bit.

Ah it seems the picture washed out all the damned highlights. Well I was precise when doing the sword stripes, they weren\'t placed randomly.:(
