i like to think of my work area as a lab... i experiment with a lot of ideas and concepts, but nothing really hobby shattering that needs an article writen about it and i thought if i\'m doing this, others might be too. So feel free to give your good and bad here.

One that comes to mind is a reason ghost i sculpted out of Bondo. Bondo\'s that stuff you mix up with hardener and use it to patch body work on automobiles. It feathures at it sets up so you get nice rolling, smooth edges. Thought it\'d make perfect ghosts so i tried it and here\'s how it turned out;

And i use Durham\'s Rock Hard Water Putty a lot to make mud for bases and terrain. Works great. Can\'t think of much else right now, but right after i go threw some minis i\'m sure there will be more things that come to mind.

I was trying to get some superglue gel to harden in a hurry, so I held it under the water tap in the kitchen. The glue mass was pretty thick and,even though the surface hardened and turned white, underneath the glue was still soft

I left the glue to dry out for a few hours. When I looked at it again, it had dried into a hard mass with an irregular surface that looked like moss....

The green is the superglue. I don\'t know if it could be formed before hardening, that\'s not something I\'ve tried.

The effect could also be used for rotting flesh, rust, any irregular surface.. Looks good!

a secret i use...or i thought it was a secret until i saw an artice on it somewhere is. zenithial(sp) prime a mini , then use a wood stainer (usually brown) to give it a nice brown undercoat. if the mini is going to be brown of course. works with horses and other thingies.

Wow, provoke_me, that\'s the super-ghetto painting method - combining zenithal AND stain-painting! You could do a unit of cavalry in minutes that way...

I\'ve actually taken to using GW\'s Flesh Wash as a base coat on most of my mini\'s. White Primer, Flesh Wash, and it seems to make the details stand out much better for painting (results to be posted soon).

Superglue Gel is just that...a cyanoacylate glue that comes in a gel consistency instead of a thin liquid.

Loctite makes a product they call Super Attack Gel, they sell it at the local games store, so that\'s what I use.

It sets rather less quickly than superglue in liquid form, which gives a little more leeway when using it to actually glue things together. The cured glue does have a body... not much but noticable, so don\'t use too much.

It dries clear when allowed to cure undisturbed, slightly cloudy when cured under water. The stuff on my bases is painted to look like sickly moss/fungus on an ash waste world. (bases for my space marines force)

a zenithal light source is one that is coming directly from above. ie a model is highlighted as if the main light source is above the mini. to zenithal prime (correct me if i\'m wrong) undercoat in black and then lightly dust from above with white.

as for things i\'ve discovered, i once dripped a candle on some water. once set, it can be turned upside down and the surface is bubbly like some weird bubbling liquid. haven\'t used it properly yet but i think it have potential

what about your wax, freakinacage, that must be a tough one to prime, not very durable, either....could any other material be used?

i\'m not sure about others. i used a weird colour wax and didn\'t paint it, just stuck it next to the bottom of a barrel of some terrain and it looked ok
