But I answered honestly to those questions and got this:

***Your Social Anxiety Level: 84%***

You have extreme social anxiety.
Your social phobia is a serious problem for you, and you definitely need help.
And while getting help may seem very scary, it\'s your only choice... except for hermitude!

My social anxiety was only 4%!

I guess I\'m more social then an alley cat in heat. lol

I only checked one question, but who doesn\'t think other people are always judging them? It\'s just human nature.

I would of probably scored around Vikey\'s level back in HS, but I\'ve come along way since that streaking incident. ;)

I like myspace. It\'s been a great way to get in touch with old friends from school that I never would have found otherwise.

Good lord, Jim:eek: I thought mine was bad at 48%, but you make me look like a piker!!!

@ Markus - It\'s not the other people around you secretly judging you that\'s a problem; it\'s when the other people INSIDE YOUR HEAD start jduging you that things get really bad ;)

Your Social Anxiety Level: 64%

You have high social anxiety.
You have a pretty serious social phobia, and it effects your life more than you may realize.
It\'s possible that you\'ve made yourself comfortable by avoiding situations you dread.
But don\'t be fooled - you still probably need professional help.

Personally, I\'m surprised it\'s not higher.

I was thinking about a MySpace page, but like others have said, I don\'t think I\'d have much of interest to put on it. And I really don\'t want ot be hit on by 19-year-old transvestites. :(

;)

Wait a minute... if I have a MySpace page I\'ll get hit on by escorts, porn web cam girls, and 19-year-old transvestites ??? And the downside of all this is...???

Well, not wanted to turn this into a supervike pity party, but I do have Social Anxiety and it has gotten pretty severe recently.

All my life I have fought it, but I also taught myself to hide if very well. Most people I know would be a bit surprised to find out how badly I struggle with this. I kind of had a breakdown not too long ago, and had to admit some of this stuff to my wife. Even she was shocked to know about it.

I don\'t want to make it sound as though I am one step above a leper, I still go out into public do things on a social basis. I just have to put on an act to do so. Kind of like a public mask.

I\'ve lost lots of friends because of it. Not like a sudden \'I hate you\' thing, but after declining to hang out with them for years, I think most have just given up.

I\'ve had panic attacks before in public, no one would know about them, because I hide it, but inside my head I am only looking to get the hell out of there and go home. Sometimes, I feel like there is a spotlight on me when in a public place, like everyone is watching me.

But, on the bright side, I am now taking some happy pills that make me feel a bit more normal again. I hate to admit that too, and I hate having to use this as a crutch, but sadly, its true.

My social ineptitude probably doesn\'t come across here on the forums well. But maybe it explains that grossly huge posting number just under my name....

I know EXACTLY what you mean by this statement.

Your post sounds like something I would write, only to a lesser extent (about 20% lesser according to the test ;)).

 Cheers to the homebodys!

That sucks, Jim. Like I said, I thought my 48 was bad. I understand the panic attack thing, too. Mine, though, are just general anxiety things, not because of social dealings. Glad you\'re doing something about it (the happy pills & all & admitting it to the wife) These are good things.
Social Anxiety has never been my primary problem (That would be depression) but I can understand it to an extent. I\'ve always been trapped between being an isolated loner and a crazed attention seeker. On those Meyers-Briggs things I\'ve always come down squarely in the middle between introvert & extrovert.
Anyways, I don\'t know what I\'m rambling on about. I\'m just glad to see that you\'re getting some help with it.

ps - did you notice that our scores are exactly reverse - 84% and 48%

Maybe there is a reason why this ailment is called SAD (Social Anxiety Disorder) :(

Although I am waaay on the other extreme, to the point where I tried to direct ALL attention to me (also not healthy), I have a close friend with this, and it lead to an extreme case of alcohalism. It got so bad, he couldn\'t work, or deal with other people, and he would just sit home and drink all the time. He lost his wife and kids, and a good job, because of this. Strange thing is, he started out a very social person, even had his own Rock band in the late 80\'s, and then everything changed for him in his late 20\'s. He kept thinking everyone was staring at him, and he would get into fights over it. I watched him go downhill, so I know what this can be like.

I\'m glad you have medication now Jim, he\'s on some now and he went back to college and is rebuilding his life. I\'m usually not a pro-drug person, but according to statistics this is the 3rd biggest psychological illness in the world today, and anything is better then living with that.

Well Dauber, I for one noticed the number similarity;)

I can sympathize with you, although my depression is primarily situational right now.

Although once this is all done, I think I will shut myself inside and stay there.
