I used to be a student in Wales and rented a cottage on the outskirts of aberystwyth woke up one morning to a scrunch scrunch scrunch sound looked out the window into the field next to the window and a cow no more than three feet from me was chewing its way determinedly through the biggest after birth you ever did see needless to say it wasn't the most pleasant thing to see after a night on the tiles. Fascinating though and just had to sit and watch it go through the lot never knew cows ever eat meaty type stuff?!?

It looked a bit like a plastic bag stuffed with purple and green paint. Not something we eat ourselves as far as I know but it was right up there on the grossness scale and disturbing scale seeing blood drip from a bovines jaws:vampire:

ok, so as a swede i have tried the herring, its absolutely fantastic if eaten with the extras, as a stand alone thing its a bit too salty though.

i have also tried haggis while in edinburgh, awesome stuff

which brings me to this, the most vile of scandinavian and especially swedish cuisine, pölsa, this dreaded horrid thing makes my stomach turn.

its pretty much just pigs innards boiled with herbs, onions and barley.

and yes, it looks like vomit.

yeah pretty much but served like the mess it is with red beats and potatoes, sometimes a fried egg accompanies it as well.

its also called Lungmos, translates to mashed lungs, which is a very apt description of its consistency

Nice what your gran makes you eat isn't it? Probably would be classed as cruel and unusual punishment if you fed that to prisoners!;)

School???!!? OOH my god was that just to make you more hardy and all that up near the arctic so you could go out age eight and hunt the elk down space wolves style?

" return with the elk or it's mashed lungs for the next two week!!"

if that was the case it kind of worked, i stand at 196cm and weigh in at about 138kg. i grew up in the northern parts of sweden and elk hunting was actually something we were encouraged to participate in. we were to young according to the law to shoot anything though.

never considered myself that big though, most of my male friends are well over 2 meters and weigh in at about the same.
girls around here never ate it, thats why theyre all at 165cm or so hahaha

its always too early to start eating it.
