hi all!!!

I\'m an italian 18 boy, and sorry for my bad english...:D

I\'m painting a troll for a contest and i want to know what you think about it.

We need views from all angles and more room arounf the edges so we can really see the mini. Looks good from that angle so far although you might try thinning the paint a bit an smoothing out the blends. Can\'t say for sure with this photo though.

the base is very nice indeed, could do with another photo from the back. the face is looking good as Liz said more angles = better comments :D

wow great work

is the base finished position wise. i would have had the ogres rock in with the other rocks in the background (or does it do this already?)

The troll itself is cool - as is the freehand banner.
1 comment on the TROLL base, and 4 comments on the display base :D :

i> Will you be painting the shield that you can see on the rock?

ii> As mentioned, does the troll\'s base actually blend in with the display base? (Cos it looks a bit strange in ur last photo)

iii> I presume the ground (sand area) is unfinished and will be painted?

iv> It\'s only personal preference, and it might be a bit difficult since you\'ve already started on it, but I would have stained the display base.

Other than that it is very cool :)
I particularly like the wooden waypointer - is it balsa wood? how did you get it like that?

really nice the freehand on the banner is really nice.....the troll arms and weapon will probably make a massive difference when they are done as currently the white scales are really distracting to the whole piece...

Is the comp for a diorama or for the single troll??? just curious as as a diorama it is a little unbalanced and unnatural looking the rocks could do with blending together.. If the base is purely a display base then the whole thing looks great.
I particularly like the unusual and varied skin colours on the Troll works really well.

another thing that is niggling a little is the hair colour is this finished?? maybe a darker colour would help frame the face a little better as there is a lot of character in there and it would be a shame not to make it more of a focal point ..At the moment due to the bright and well executed banner this is the focal point so distracts from the Troll himself..

The other thing is the reed clumps are a little too regular maybe the odd clip ad bend here and there will help.. vary the heights and angles of each reed..
great looking work and look forward to seeing it completed.
