After months away from painting miniatures due to college applications, I finally have some time in which to get back into the hobby. Instead of resurrecting old threads, I thought I'd start a new one.
I did a rough conversion of an Eldar Autarch the other day just for fun, and now it's ready to be painted.

I want to give it a majestic, angelic sort of color scheme to fit its pose. I'm thinking white and yellow or gold. Any other suggestions?
I also have my Ork Stormboy from a previous WIP:

No progress on that. Hopefully will have some soon. My plan is to go over the metallic parts in black again, as I'm not liking their current look.

stormboy sure look kamikaze enough :)

pale blue sounds like a good choice. pale colours will suit that mini nicely imo

Right I started base coating the eldar today, nothing significant enough to post though. More tomorrow.

Here's a bit of progress:

If the paint looks thick it's because
1. It is.
2. I stripped the pieces so they're a little messed up.

Wow, after only a couple months off I'm feeling pretty rusty. This piece is obviously just going to be a practice piece to get back into things.

dont worry its like falling off a bike or riding a log once you do it it hurts lol. on a serious note might i suggest the finest quality wet and dry paper with water and washing up liquid to soften down the robes rough bits.im not what you might call an avid fan of eldar stuff but im very interested in where your going with this.

Alright, I may do that. I'm not incredibly concerned with the quality of the conversion at the moment as I'm just using it to get back into painting. But that could be a simple thing to do, I have all the materials.

Worked on it for an hour and a half or so:

Brown on the wings MIGHT become some gold nmm. I dunno. I've never done gold before, only silver (which I decided to do on the sword here). The rest of the brown will most likely end up as bone color. I opted not to clean up the robes as this piece is really only about getting back into painting. I realize that there are a lot of flaws with the preparation, but I'm really not that concerned. It is made with recycled pieces after all. Hopefully when I'm done with this, I can get back to that more adequately prepared ork with renewed confidence.

I'll bump this up by mentioning that I've started work on another tree sculpt if any of you remember that from February.
