Necromunda question - Plasma pistols

Can I shoot a Plasma pistol on full power in hand to hand?

If I can what would happen if I got multiple hits? I got four hits and the rules state you must allocate them evenly between weapons. So that was two for my plasma pistol and two for my sword.

If I fire on full power do I lose the 2nd plasma pistol attack or just use the sword to hit?

some passages from the Necromunda rule book, hope they can clarify things:

If a fighter is using a single weapon then any hits
inflicted in hand-to-hand fighting are assumed to
have been made with that weapon – be it a sword,
knife, pistol etc. Resolve the hit using the Strength of
the weapon as indicated in the Armoury section.
If a fighter is using two weapons (one in each hand)
then any hits are inflicted alternately, first with one
hand and then the other. For example, a fighter who
carries a sword and a laspistol and who inflicts 2 hits
will strike once with the sword and once with the
laspistol. Any odd hits can be resolved with either
weapon.

If you shoot the weapon on maximum power then you cannot shoot again until it has recharged. It takes the firer’s entire following turn for the weapon to recharge once
more.

It's still a bit of a grey area, as I have read over that section in the rule book a few times myself. It says any odd hits can be given to either weapon, but I've scored four hits in total, so that is two for my sword and two for the plasma pistol.

I chose to fire the plasma pistol on max power for the first hit, meaning it cannot fire again. So what happens to the second hit for that weapon? Is it lost or can it be allocated over to the sword?

The obvious thing to do would be to shoot the first hit on low power and if they aren't taken out then do the second hit on full power. We agreed as part of our house rules that you couldn't change the power settings once the melee had started though.

Using our house rules, I'd get two shots at low power but only one at high power, and the 2nd hit from the plasma pistol is wasted as it is re-charging.

I was just wondering how other people view the ruling. Would you allow the 2nd plasma pistol hit to be allocated to the other weapon, or should it be lost as you fired on high power?

Hi, I'd say the 2nd plasma pistol hit is lost to recharge.

Coincidence, Gapow, I too am in middlesbrough, I don't get many games of Necro as no one I know really plays. Do you play regularly and if so where and are there many in your group? Where do you play (prob not at the 'workshop as no one plays specialist games there, heh)? PM me or something, I haven't played in about a year, though I'd love to get into a campaign again.
