you need to work on your appliction of paint, it needs to be neater and cleaner where colours meet, thinner paint as well maybe. these are the basics, without them free hand will be poor.
hope i\'ve helped keep on sluggin :)
p.s. your base is cool tho

its like this model is done by two different people, the painting on the base looks very precise and well executed, the armour (maybe the colour is just distracting) looks like not as much time was taken. if the level of painting on the base was carried over to the model itself then this would turn out to be a VERY nice model IMO.

for freehands, u can neer really go wrong with your basic swirly pattern found nearly any where you look on the net. U could also try out some lettering, imperial eagles or the like?

look forward to your next post

ok, thanks. yeah i see you you mean by the base compared to the champion. I think I am getting burned out a bit on painting. After a quick break, this guy will be red to suit the industrial base a little more.

i\'d say keep it fairly simple. dont go for anything too flashy or busy. maybe play with blending; try something new!

i\'ve seen alot of champions with way too much on the model. it\'s a great model, but it\'s not a banner...if you know what i mean!

Burberry surely has to be the way to go. Chavs are the new Scotts... or something like that.

I\'ll try and offer up some more useful advice once you have your new base colours down!

I think simple lines along the tabard, and maybe somesort of filigree in the corners is all that you need for free hand... nothing to complex.

since it is allready quite bright you could use a bit darker freehand... I would sugest that you could paint some dark blue lightnings. really really dark blue, you could for example use regal blue mixed with black 50:50. another idea is to draw straight lines on the robe.. just to keep it simple. small dots is also an idea... there is so much you could do as freehand. I myself am working on a terminator chaplain, I made dots on his legs and one of his sholder pads. I myself think it turned out really nice ;P
as an advice... thin you paints, personally I think it looks very messy when you have a thick layer of paint on the mini. the base... great work :)
keep it up, I think it can turn out really nice when it is finnished! :D
