Need Harry Potter Help

Friar

Dorks for Orks
Well here's whats up, my wife loves harry potter and I recently saw a diarama with a mimic chest and the sorceror's apprentice mini but havn't been able to find it again. Just wanted to know of any cool ideas from the books (memorable scenes events) and some minis that would work good for harry and what not. Also I believe the third book is her fav. I am looking to make a small diorama for her for christmas, something relatively simple as I only have a month to do it. Just keep in mind I know jack all nothing other then the couple rifftrax of the movies I've seen so any help would rock. Thanks All!

Hmnn I'm not too up to speed on harry potter either. The one I was held hostage to watch had a werewolf in it who was one of the professors, that could be a cool setting. It was on the foggy moors. This werewolf and Harry with The big beardy guy trying to find Harry... I think. Pretty much all I can remember.

Book three is The Prisoner of Azkaban (go ahead and laugh. I'm a fan. Deal with it.)
You have a lot of options.
There's a good sorceror's apprentice mini in the CMON shop (can't remember which manufacturer off the top of my head), that might suit well for it. You could also do with a hippogriff (Reaper used to have a half decent one, but I don't know if it's still out there) to represent Buckbeak. I have the body for it, but I think I've lost the wings. Yours if you want it.
Some kind of beardy giant/ogre type thing to be Hagrid.
Then there's Remus Lupin, the shabby-looking professor that turns into a werewolf. Plenty of options there.
I don't remember for certain, but I think one or two of the centaurs are in the book, if not the movie.
The hooded executioner that was going to behead Buckbeak (There's a few of these out there).
If you wanted to do a diorama, then an old wizard to be Dumbledore, the bearded half-giant, Hagrid, and the executioner preparing to behead the hippogriff in the pumpkin patch... with the Apprentice/Harry looking on. Hmm. There's a female apprentice, too, that you could use as Hermione...

Consider a Plastic GW Ogre converted to Hagrid.
It'd be about the right scale size.
And Freebooter do a good Sorcerers Apprentice.

the apprentice mini is bout perfect for harry and I'm liking the hagrid idea havn't seen him done up yet so should be fun thanks again all. Oh one thing is there a good spot that describes hagrid in the book like the first time they meet or some such, or would basing him off the movie hagrid get me close to the book?

The movie Hagrid is very close, indeed, to the book. Especially the ridiculous fur coat, which is described as 'beaver fur', usually.
For the colours, make sure they clash. Also, Hagrid hides his wand in his umbrella, because he's not supposed to have it anymore.
