Need Help On A Theme For A Dwarf Army

Hey everyone,
Im about to start work on my dwarf army(again) and am struggling a little to work out a theme for them.
At the moment the only thing i can think of is a pirate army, but im interested to hear anyones ideas for a theme.

How about having it so they all have beards?


I\'m assuming that you are going for a Dwarf army for Warhammer here. I\'d say pick a Dwarf hold and go from there. I did see some guy with an army based on one of the northern holds and themed them towards being Braveheart style Scottish with kilts, tartan and woad and stuff (you can take our land but you\'ll never take our beer).
Barak Varr is the only Dwarven seaport in the Old World so you get sailors and pirates etc there. There\'s the Slayer one which had it\'s own army list for a while. Or possibly theme one towards mining and mix a few of the miner pieces in with the regular clansdwarfs.

Best thing to do is look into the background untill you spot some gimmick which takes your fancy.

I would say it depends on how outre you want to get -

For example, for sheer shock value you could do them as smurfs.

An all female dwarf army? Or an army made up of the feakishly tall dwarfs (basically use Empire and stick beards on them all)? Sorry I have no serious suggestion, as I don\'t know much about the Dwarfen realms.

After taking in the suggestions from here and a couple of other forums (who\'s best idea was gay circus dwarves ) ive decided to go with pirate dwarves.
Does anyone have some ideas for some cool pirate dwarf conversion?

Well GW do have a unit of slayer pirates. I think the main thing is that they\'re

I still think they could look good as miners possibly taking some inspiration from this

Thanks for the reply Undave, Im currently watching a couple of slayer pirate auctions on eBay.
So far ive thought of giving all my thunderers pistols, and my miners Scuba gear, like this
