Hi everyone, it\'s my first post, though I\'ve been coming to the site for a long time, and I\'ve never felt comfortable painting wings. The model I\'m afraid to start because of the wings is this

I guess I was hoping with the wealth of knowledge on this site someone could give me a tip or two, or lead me to a tutorial, on painting realistic wings.

Just for reference I\'ve been painting since junior high (and I\'m a senior in college now) so I have a handle on what I am doing, or so I tell myself.

What colour did you want to do them and welcome:D

Usually, if you wanted white for example you would base coat a darker shade by either mixing a bit of black to the finished white colour, then gradually build up a lighter shade on top till its white.

One tip, use the side of the paint brush and gently dab it in the details, dont try and pull it acrooss or the paint will sink into the grooves, where it should be darker, i.e. in shadow

Good luck
