Hi everyone,
ive had the basis of a dwarf army for a while now and have been wanting to paint them, but i really cant decide on a colour scheme. Im going to be converting most of them (more armour etc) and want them to look really battle weary (all part of my back story).
Any ideas on some unique and good looking colour schemes appreciated.

Hey, I\'m new here.

I\'ve got some skaven slaves... (I\'ll put a pic up soon) ...and I had a lot of success with a really tight orange/pale brown scheme. They look filthy and sad and kind of sun-bleached.

skin:
elf flesh
wash of bestial brown

fur (or hair maybe in your case:) :
dessert yellow
drybrush a couple of layers of bleached bone (they\'re albino slaves w/ red eyes)

armor:
snakebite leather
flesh wash
copper dots for the cute little skaven buttons :)

weapons:
black
scumble on some copper so the metal looks beaten
dot with wash of camo green

uhm, what else.. I used some golden brown long static grass and cut it to a length that resembles hay for the bases, mixed with a little flock and a few crumbles of gravel. It looks to me like bedding, like the slaavemaster just came by and said \'get up! fight!\'

I don\'t know if you can visualize it, but I\'ll post a pic soon. I could see dwarves in the same colours, maybe with their codex -blond and -grey and -red beards.
