Need help with CSM theme

I am looking to start a new CSM legion i hav paint shemme which is grey red and NNM-silver. I need a theme this is just a suggestion but a historical theme would be nice. PLEASE dont just go on that theme. You wonder why i am using this forum it\'s because i would like to know what conversions would be nice. Painting tips would help and anything else you think might help.

I assume CSM stands for Chaos Space Marine.

How about Scotts?
They could all have kilts and hair tassles on their helmets - the helmets being painted half blue. It would be very Braveheart.
Lots of big powerswords etc.

thanks for the steel hearts suggestion i may think along those lines and change it a bit thanks also the scottish idea is good especially powersord bits but somehow cant c the traitors of the emperor the men that actually dared to do just that walkin round with a kilt on but ty anyway

Why not? That\'s what the Scotts did. They dared to rebel against the British Empire.
I was trying to think of historically themed chaotic hordes and the mongols are very hard to convey as marines, but Scotts all you have to do is put a bit of plaid on them. Most marines these days seem to be wearing loin cloths anyway. They just have to be plaid loin cloths, and maybe a red lion here or there.

I have seen scottish themed marines in an old white dwarf... I remember they looked kick ass.

But of course if you don\'t want to do scotsmen you shouldn\'t :)

And dude, I hate to be nitpicking but could you please take some time looking through your replies before you post them and check things like punctuation, spelling etc.? Just a suggestion.

HEY! You could do your marines as Penguins! - all beaky marines in black with white down the center and yellow beaks!
