i can paint the NMM silver, but i need help with the gold.

Is SENMM a better choice when it comes to large areas?

Articles Section first :) Plenty of stuff in there!

Colours depends on what type of gold you want.

There is a huge gallery of models on the web. It is called Coolminiornot.com

probably the best place to go to find images of ace painted models

Welcome to the forum ;)

If you don\'t want a yellow gold i think you should try using snakebite leather as a base colour. Some people add white to this mix for highlights and black for shade which looks a little like dark green when mixed but it works out in the end. There are lots of ways but these colours work for a non yellow type gold.

only use SENMM if you want your metals to be clean and shiny so it gives the illusion of polished metal.

Check out the work of Alexi Z. I know there are many, many painters that would be good examples but i know that Alexi uses the black/snakebite/white combo on most of her work.

Hope this helps.

Just to give my own thoughts aftertrying NMM gold for the first time as well with a few techniques I found the Black/Snakebite -> white gave the best results so far for me, though more for an ancient/dull gold rather than a shining/yellow.

You could try try the magmatrax(sp) tutorial for SENMM gold. Looks wonderful and the tages are well laid out but recon I simply didn\'t have the required skill to pull it off, worth a look if you can though.

(Sorry, don\'t have the link to hand given this isn\'t my home computer)
