need help with shoulder pads on sculpt

alright, so im sculpting away and then i get to the shoudler pads, and because i lack creativity when it comes to making armour, i need some help as right now i just dont like my weak attempt

****edit ok, i tried something, does it look better? its more curvy and holds a bit more shape

Looks good to me I ain\'t an experienced sculptor, so I\'m afraid I can\'t give you much advice... what army is he based on? He looks awesome, very cool pose

Why dont you use an original shoulder pad and sculpt over it. Looks like your going a dragon motif so do scales on the shoulder pad.

***i tried doing the scale thing for the chestplate, but it didnt turn out very well, and i think making the shoudler pads small scales(like on his adamantine mantle which you cant see in those pics) draws attention away from the mantle i think, i think i might of answered my own problem before you guys did, im starting to like the new pad shown above(the curvey one)

***hes a chapter master from my dragon marine army, they are a more \"wild\" type chapter, so they have ancient designs and such on their armour, and details like that

hes going to be on a big flying base flying over a big rock with some random civilian riding a young dragon(cold one) beisde the rock

ill do some more work on it and post again, to see what everyone thinks!
