depending on the white you want I would say start from a base of grey or brown/cream and then move up to pure white, keeping the pure white only on the top most highlights. And obviously keep the water clean :p

Might want to drop a PM to Aarkham, the guy does some amazing whites on his models.

edit: And welcome to the forum. You\'ve come to the right place for advice :D

Best advice is to do a test piece first! You can try different approaches on different areas on that mini and see which method works out best.

Other than that I would suggest base coating with Bleached Bone. Then do some slight shading with Graveyard Earth and then highlight liberally up to pure white.

Also, this thread would be better suited in the Painting & Conversions section of the forum.

Welcome to the site! :)

Have to agree with Both Frenchkid & Ritual. Either very pale grey and or Bleached Bone. as your base colour.
If you are using Vallejo try Ivory as the base, then work soft grey brown such as Graveyard Earth into the Shadowed areas.

Oh and I moved the thread as well.

White undercoat/basecoat and simply shade it with glazes of grey/green/blue/bone/pink.........

Start with light shades and work down to your darkest tone. Not the quickest way to do it mind.

Edit: Here you go. The white on this had absolutely no highlighting applied to it. It was all done from a white spray paint undercoat and shaded with glazes of blue/green greys...

There\'s a tutorial on the spanish team web site that is stunning. It give pics of real white things on a white background and then tells how to re-create them. I\'m at work so I\'ll have to post a link later and you\'ll have to translate it but even just looking at the pics should get you where you need to go. I\'ll get it posted asap

Here\'s that link to the Spanish Team Tutorial. You\'ll need to run it through a translator but you\'ll see what I mean when I say the pics tell most of it.
