Hi everyone,

I would like to know if anyone bought the book \"The Art of Warhammer 40K\" (=> Click) and if you could tell me exactly what\'s in it please with a few pics if possible :).

Because I\'m really interested by this book but I already have the Index Exterminatus one and so I don\'t really want to have two times the same book but with different covers :).
Also I\'m short on money so I\'m really cautious lol.

Thanks in advance, c u later :)

i have it now - bought it yesterday, JUST so i could tell you what it\'s like!! (and if you believe that you\'ll believe anything!!). it\'s a nice books with some great art compiled. limited edition too so it\'s unlikely to loose value. it hurt me to spend that amount on a book and a fekking gw one at that but there were a couple of pages worth it if you ask me. don\'t have a scanner so i cant post pics sorry

Thanks for buying it ;) lol !

There were only a couple pages worth it or is the book in total good ? Do they really explain techniques they use and everything?

If you have a web cam or a digicam, and the time for it, could you take pics of the images in there, even if they are bad quality it\'s just to be sure I don\'t get the same book again (even if the other one I got a few years ago is great!) ?

Thanks a lot for your help :)

Best regards

chances are you\'ll have a ton of the artwork thats in there anyway. most of it is stuff from the codices and white dwarf. while i have seen most, there is some stuff that hasn\'t been published (or so i have been led to believe). and it\'s always nice to have it all in one place. i\'ll see what i can do about the pics....

Man sorry for not answering earlier but I got pretty busy these days :(.

Thanks a lot for having some pics posted! I appreciate it :).

Sadly it seems that there are mainly colour illustrations, and even though they\'re nice I prefer the B&W versions of them ;). Also it seems to me that they drew a lot of them just for the purpose of the book, since a lot of them that I never saw, seem a lot \"photoshoped\" ...

I don\'t think I\'ll buy :(.

Thanks again :)

Best regards

there is a bit of b+w stuff in it but not a lot. i posted pictures of new stuff so you could see that it\'s not just old pix. it\'s mostly book/box covers and full page illustrations. a few little ones towards the end. there are only a few that look photoshopped. most are \'old fashioned\' illustrations

Really?

Oh well, if a lot of theme are in colours it\'s not really my deal. I prefer dark B&W lol ;).

But thanks a lot again for posting those pics and taking the time to take them :).

Is it true that the illustrators talk about there techniques in there too?

Best regards

there are a few paragraphs here and there but nothing to write home about. if it\'s b+w you are after, dont bother with it. i think only old adrian smiths are in b+w. mind you most gw imagery is in colour anyway
