This is my latest piece, he will go with 6 shadow warriors on a scenic base. The photo doesnt show the quality but it is a rough guide. What do you think i.e. colour scheme painting etc. This was also my first attempt at NMM.

Hmm.. the colors look good on the inset, so it must be the bigger photo looks a little duller. For freehand, I\'d suggest something gold or yellowish, as the hair isn\'t a good contrast enough. Looking really good so far! :D

Thanks for the comments, I have thought about freehand but felt that it would ruin the theme I am trying to achieve. They are meant to be forest ranger types. I wanted a lush forest green cloak with soft brushed leather black under tunics dark wood bows and so on...

I want them to be dark and natural looking, hence trying the NMM as it looked softer than metallic.

Well here\'s a freehand suggestion that would fit your theme.
First, only the inside of the cloak.
Then do some sort of organic pattern on the inside of the cloak in a slightly lighter or slightly darker shade of the same fabric.
Down side is such things don\'t photo well, but they look cool in person. (I\'m doing something like that for my elf bows)

i must say i like it!

maybe he\'d look better with that golden freehand inside the cloack, but if it doesn\'t fit with your idea, don\'t do it! ;)

he has a very \"organic\" look, coming straight from a deep forest

i have no particular advice to give, so i congrat for the beauty of the mini :D

He looks quite nice. Lovely shading on the cloak.

I for one am relieved not to see any freehand on his cloak. That\'s been done to death IMHO. I agree that a forest-y ranger type wouldn\'t have a fancy cloak with a border on it. :D
