Hello,
I have bought me an Eldar Farseer and now I want to try to paint it as well as I can. But there is the first problem. I hate it to paint something in red colours but I want to paint the robe of my Eldar Farseer in Red. So I wan to ask you how to paint a red robe like these?

So which colours did I had to use and how to mix it to get such a good looking, red robe?

I`m sorry about my bad english but I am a young german guy who had to learn it a bit better  .

Cheers
Chris

The first picture, it looks like a dark red with a slight slight tinge of purple to it. Maybe Gamesworkshop (GW) Scab Red or something to start, then very thin coats of black to shade it, and finally the highlights looks like they get very crisp on the folds going up to almost white. That is the difficult part I would say.

Welcome to the forums. And do not worry about your English it\'s far better than some postings by native English speakers.

As for the models you\'ve pointed out as your aims, these are both painted by Members of the \'Eavy Metal team and are intended to display figures in a very high quality painting style for the catalogue. (White Dwarf.)

Both of the figures seem to use extremely thin coats of paint over (I understand) White Primer so the levels of paint highlighting could be achieved by either Blending, (Smoothly blending the edges of two areas of wet paint together) or by multiple fine layers of paint each one fractionaly lighter than the previous layer.

What ever you choose to attempt, please post up in either the Works in Progress (Wips) or the Discuss Submissions forums as we\'d be delighted to see what you\'ve doen and hopefully provide some advice and encouragement.
