Need some technical help / advice

All of a sudden, a lot of my websites (CMON included ) are popping up in a much larger font than previously.

I\'m running XP on an HP PC. The overall settings for the monitor seem fine and have not been changed.

This only takes place on the internet and only certain sites.

Using CMON as a prime example, how do I diagnose and solve the problem ???

Do I need to reset or reload something ?

Any useful help is much appreciated.
Busting my hump is ok too........

Check you IE settings. Should be in tools internet options. You may have accidently set the font to large.

Good luck.

I use IE.
I have looked at \"Tools\" then \"Internet Options\".
Can\'t seem to find anything that changes font or screen size.

Any walkthrough assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I have a different guess.
Right click on your desktop, away from an icon.
Click on Properties.
Click on settings.
Check your display size.
You may have changed to a lower resolution by accident.
1024x768 is the \'norm\'.

Naukhel - Your idea was the first place I looked.
Everything other than IE was ok, so I didn\'t think it was global settings.
Thanks for the feedback though.

Check your monitor. Theres been a rash of break-ins where burglars have stolen a person\'s monitor and replaced it with a crappier model.

Switch to Firefox guy, seriously! It\'s faster, it\'s more secure (MUCH), it looks better (subjective but sue me), it\'s faster, it has better features, it\'s more memory-efficient. And did I mention it\'s faster?

@Einion: That is so 2006! lol No but seriously IE 7 is an improvement indeed and has the advantage that many homepages are optimised for it. Example: I lost 30$ just recently because of firefox (or rather that the homepage wasn\'t optimised for the browser), when I booked a ticket and it reset the time when I pressed \"book\" I had to rebook when I discovered it and pay 30$.

Right now I am switiching back and forth. I have to admit I still like firefox 2 better overall though.

And yes, I know IE7 is a big improvement - look at all the features they stole from other browser programmers who actually care about us users! Took \'em long enough so it bloody should be an improvement over that pile of dog poop that preceded it.

The fact that some websites are optimised for IE\'s appalling implementation of the web standards is sadly true, but it\'s no reason to use IE as your primary browser. Firefox is (and if you include its direct lineage, always has been) and always will be superior. It\'s not retaking market share - directly in the face of overwhelming pressures against it - for nothin\' :cool:
