Hello everyone,
I recently posted my demoness, Vandorenda.
I\'ve gotten some very sweet comments, which I greatly appreciate :flip:, but I\'d love some tips on how I could improve this mini.

Big thanks to all who can help me...

Hi Kat;
I don\'t think that there is anything intrinsically wrong with this mini. It\'s just a very complex one.
Your skin tones are smooth and the Scales are quite well defined, but the paler belly scales do show a little \"blotchiness\" from the wash you applied.
I must admit that I\'m not too sure about the hair of the figure and I think that it could do with a little extra work on highlights.

There is a slight problem with the focus on the pictures and what appears to be a slight colour cast to one of them.

But overall I would like to see a more of your work in order to make some better suggestions.

If you could post a less complex figure with a good photo I believe that there would be many helpful comments coming your way.

Mike.

...as Eric hasn\'t showed yet! The front scales, the browny ones could benefit from just a slight highlight and some areas of the snake tail scales need a little more darklining just to seperate the colors/shades used, like where two highlight shades meet each other.Hope that\'s helpful. You paint as well as me by the way! lol There really isn\'t anything else I can offer, maybe DR has a point about the hair (I\'m working on improving my hair painting at the minute) I saw a good model yesterday with hair highlighted in not exactly complimentary colours, like a straw colour on top of a dark brown,it looked strange at first but after a second I could appreciate the technique! Hope that\'s helpful! :D

Bad photos..... This would do even better with good ones!

It looks to be an excellent effort, but for me, I\'d like to see more contrast pretty much everywhere except the metals. Go darker in the shadows and lighter in the highlights.

Nice base too. I bought a lump of Super Sculpey the other week and it\'s great fun to play with - like plasticine!!

Thanks for all the responses!! Much appreciated.
I\'ll definately try to work harder on the hair, its a lot harder than I thought :(.
I\'ll look up some tutorials on hair and scales for some assistance, though I\'m now working on the River troll I was sent through the mini exchange, so it will take me a while to get back to her.
Its really nice to get solid constructive feedback here, family and friends are sometimes just \'too nice\'. lol
