Needing some colour ideas

Hi Guys,

I\'m just starting to paint the Harbinger of the fallen figure and have come up wth a mental block early on. To me she looks like she belongs in the sea, so I\'m going to paint her in turquiosy/bluey clothes and give her dark hair with a greenish tinge, but i\'m really not sure what colour to go with her skin. I was originally considering a pale blue, but then she would be very blue all over, any ideas what would go well?

Also, I\'m going to eventually base her as if she is standing amongst coral. This will be my first base that basically isn\'t sand and static grass, so any ideas on how to make this would be fantastic!

Looking at the figure I think you have the basis for a great idea started....

I think if you based her skin color in the grey area. Not too dark, but something like the SPACE WOLVES GREY that GW has. There is enough blue tint to that to compliment the rest of your idea. I would work that grey up to an off white.

It just seems that if the character is \"from the sea\" she should have very cold skin tones.

Just a thought...

Combine your ideas with SuperVikes and I think you\'ve got a winner!

As for the base: 1) I think the coral thing is a great idea. It will also give you a chance to break up the all blue/green color scheme some. 2) haven\'t really got a clue how you should proceed. hr problem will be in it not ending up looking like one of Reaper\'s old standard broccolli bases

So who\'s got ideas for a non-broccoli coral base? I will get some lovely colours out of it but how to create it is beyond me!

I\'ve done the skin, in grey with a little bit of pink added for warmth, although i am having a hell of a problem with her eyes ( I don\'t know if its a miscast or I just cant paint them!), so I have taken the advice

Fizl: You could sculpt the coral from Super Sculpey, which is a ceramic-like sculpting compound. It will not harden(unlike green stuff) until you bake it at a low temp.in the oven. This gives you plenty of time to work with it. Plus, it\'s shatter & chip resistant and comes in a natural pinkisk/coral color. I love the stuff!! After baking, it can be carved, sanded, drilled and/or painted as well.
