Hi CMON I would be realy chuffed if you could give me some feedback on my latest figure. Trying to improve my NMM and also just got photo shop; realy hard to do well. I seem to be getting stuck at the 6/7 borderline and realy want to improve, taking my time with the painting about 20 hours on this one and bought Rosemary & Co brushes cleaned out the gunky paints and bought new ones also thinning thinning thinning the paint.View attachment 9626

he looks pretty good but the blending needs to be finer. also, only dry brushing of the rock makes it always look flat. you need to bring more color into it that you have already used on your figure. This will give it all some harmony. I am only saying these things because you asked for feedback, I want you to be a better painter and hope my comment helped. If not, my apology.

yeah, that would help along with some well placed color. You don't want that rock to look all the same, the bottom half will be darker than the top half. The groundwork shouldn't be something you rush through as it is almost as important as your figure. what technique are you using for blending?

Sounds good I will give it a go. Blending is generally layering going from dark to highlight gradually mixing up thining with water and slodri. Sometimes wet blending though to be honest with this figure not so much. Other figures if you look on my gallery far more attention w spent on that maybee 10-15 gradations. This one I was concentrating on the nmm at the expense of the skin tones poor show thinking about it. Will definitely try the filtering you mentioned. Any other techniques you want to suggest?

I just looked at your gallery and some of those are really nice. Keep up the great work I don't think there is much more I can say.
