So here I go again. A WIP of what will hopefully end up being 3 of my UKGD entries for this year. Bit of a change on previous years in that I have 3 major projects to work on rather than just the 1 that I have tended to do in previous years and then fill in any gaps with stuff from my personal collection.
I have decided to dump all the stuff for each entry onto this thread. That way it should hopefully be easier for me to manage and it may get slightly more regular updates, but don't hold your breath.
So first up ...WH40K Squad - a squad of an Eldar Farseer and 4 warlocks mounted on jetbikes. This is something that has been sitting in the back of my mind for a number of years as something I wanted to have a go at and finally, now I am getting around to it. The jetbikes will have extra sidepanels in a similar vein to what Scibor produced. The pics shows the direction I am taking with regard to that. I will probably also add n some extra vanes coming from the back of the bikes.
The farseer and warlocks will be converted using the top half of metal figures and the arms and legs of the plastic rider. Those will have cloak pieces added to them with greenstuff. Oh and they will be painted in Saim Hann colours.

Second entry - WH40K vehicle. When I originally saw the Tauros Venator model on Forge Worlds' site I just fell in love with it. To me it looks so cool:glasses-cool:. This will be a "fairly simple" job where the vehicle itself will have no real modifications to it other than where the wheels are concerned. I imagined the Tauros being driven at a fair whack through a dusty, rocky terrain. The base will capture the moment as the Tauros is going around a corner kicking up dust as the wheels dig in. To help get the feel I decided to play with the suspension and drilled through where the axels so that I can have the vehicle tilting over to one side to give the impression of a bit of roll as it corners. I also drilled through the front suspension to allow me to turn them to one side.

The big challenge where this model is concerned is creating the dust cloud kicked up by the offside wheel. I have done some experiments with cotton wool. Pics to follow shortly.
Third and final major - Diorama - Buzzgobs ejektor seat. This will be the first year, hell first time ever that I have properly worked on a diorama. I didn't originally plan on doing one, I bought the Buzzgob model as a treat for myself at last years GD and because I spent over £50 I got the Sqwadron pilot as well. Seeing them both together created a wondeful image in my mind that solidified into an idea for a diorama. The basic premise of the diorama is that the pilot has been invited into Buzzgobs backyard where he tests out stuff. In this case a new Ejektor seat... which is of course what every Ork pilot wants, which is why he looks worried and confused. The seat is in traditional Orky fashion - a seat with a big spring under it.
I roughed out the layout of the yard in cardboard to make it quick and easy to get all of the bits to be the right size and in the right place. So Buzzgobs workshop at the back with the Ork himself and the pilot on a platform overlooking the experiment. Buzzgobs lackeys to the sides and a bunch of grots pulling on ropes to pull the seat down onto its base.

So that's it so far. I should have some more updates on the first 2 shortly. Buzzgob will have to wait a bit longer.
