Nemissary/Khthoth's Malifaux projects and other things along the way.

I have started Malifaux back up and I am super excited to play the awesomeness that is 2nd edition. :) I have posted my progress on town building and a little bit of model painting on a couple of forums and decided to finally try posting something on Coolmini and see if I can get some feedback/ideas/opinions.

Here is a bit of the project to start it all off:

I have all the bases 99% done. They are sealed etc. However, I plan to add glossy blood spatter and bloody handprints to them after I get the minis on them so they are not 100%, I made over 60 30mm, 15 40mm and 5 50mm to get started on the faction. I have no idea how many I will need, but I hope I won't have to go back and make a bunch more. Ahh I will also be adding the new technical paint from GW: nurgles rot on the sludge areas of some bases.

I have some base colors on some of the McMourning crew (my favorite! I love Herbert West/Reanimatore and H.P. Lovecraft)

These are all 1st ed. minis and metal. I'm want the plastic McMourning this month. You will notice some chips on the minis. My dog knocked my table over and they hit the concrete :(
Sir Pugsley. These models are NOT done, just WIP still but getting close to the end.

Nurse Amber

Ahh I found the old Pandora minis. I need to get the new Pandora and paint her, but here are the minions.
I used the green/purple color scheme on these and a variation of the tiled floors with tentacles coming out which I thought was more fitting to Neverborn than the sludge and zombie hands of the Rezzers.

Welcome to the forums khthoth, Like what you've done to the bases and the Pandora mini's are looking really good. Your nurse amber could do with a deeper shade in the heavy creases but good start

Thanks wargamesculptor! I am still working on the Nurse and thought I had the creases done, but now I see that they need more depth. I always have trouble with white. I will try to darken some of the deeper creases by using the current shade and adding a tiny bit of prussian blue, maybe?? Like I said, I'm not very good with white and usually avoid it so I have not improved with it.

Whoa cool bases! I want to do something similar for my Dark Vengeance set, but like more industrial. Where did you get those tiles?

No problem khthoth, white and black are the two hardest colours to get right and push our talents to the test, adding blue sounds good and shouldn't make it too grey

Thanks Wargamesculptor.

@Demihuman: The tiles are just textured plasticard. 1/8" square tiled plasticard. You can sometimes find sheets of it on eBay.

Holidays and a sidetrack with painting a Ten Thunders crew for a friend that wants to join Malifaux have kept me behind schedule. That and my 4 year old got ahold of my camera :-/

I should be back on track this weekend and have a few pics up.

OK, a little scenery progress and a sample WIP of Misaki/Ten Thunders crew. Going for a yellow look, but may have to change the blue. I'm not a fan on how that blue is looking with the yellow.

a 3"x3" jail cell that can be removed from the jail building and used separately.

Loving the scenery, looks very atmospheric. Agree on changing the blue (I almost didn't notice all the shading in the yellow because of the contrast) maybe go for a sky blue with dark blue patterning
