NestorV's Painting Log

Hello everyone. I am starting this thread in order to keep track of my WIP and stuff.
First one is the HE Prince on Griffon from the IOB set. At this point I have primed the mini with VJ air grey primer and I will try and paint the best part of it with the airbrush in order to save on time. I hope it will end up on a nice tabletop lvl.
Here is a first pic of the primed pieces.

How well do the halves fit together? I ask because it is usually better to assemble and fill any gaps before priming.

Hello. thank you for your reply. The parts fit together quite well actually. I think there is gonna be a hairline gap (maybe thinner) when the two halves fit together, but I am getting this one done for the battlefield, so I am not going to give it a full treatment of filling gaps, sanding etc. It is more of an experiment on speed painting, as I usually start to do bits and things that nobody sees in the end.
Here is another pic of the progress so far.

Don't mind me. My OCD has me filling, sanding and painting things on the mini even if they won't normally be seen.

The base coats look fantastic so far!

No worries mate. Most of the time I end up doing the same things over and over so I know what you mean. Anyways, I am trying to work this one on a faster pace. I have finished basecoating the prince, and I have just left for last the banner on his spear. Now I need to wait for the metallics to dry and put the body together so I can start working on the shading.

Colours used for the basecoating are: Scorched Brown, Regal Blue, Golden yellow, Chaos Black, Bleached Bone, Chainmail, Glorious Gold, and P3 Rackshack Tan for the lion part of the griffon's body.
