Hmmmm....sounds like the guy sold you resin beads, which you heat up. As you know (to your cost) the stuff isn\'t exactly clear.

I use a two part resin, which is liquid already and you just mix together the quantity you want - it\'s an absolute must for anything covered in water. Resin is my nemesis!! I don\'t think I\'ve had one good experience yet, even though it all kinda turns out ok in the end.

Grats on the model though, it would have been a corker if all had gone well and good on you for trying something new too. This is a valuable lesson, albeit a hard one, but don\'t let it put you off trying again :D

EDIT: I also forgot to add, that with the stuff you melt you only have a very short working time before it starts to solidify again (hence the different levels which can be seen where you must have topped up the resin). The stuff I mentioned can be mixed up and poured really deep so you shouldn\'t need to do multiple pours. Having said that, if you do top it up later, it seems to remelt the original a bit and binds seamlessly with it.... strange, but cool! ;)

woodland scenics works pretty well. It has the consistency of butter at room temperature and is completely moldable. You can create ripples, waves, etc. It takes some getting used to. I tried it for the first time on a model a recently finished and it is fun to work with and it dries clear.

I bet you must have uttered and expletive or two or shed a tear when you pulled that out of the mold.
Now your beautiful piece of work looks like a naked alcoholic hussy has taken a dive in a vat of beer.....bubbles still included.
Salvage it by adding a white foaming head on top an having a laugh. Either that or build a urinal around it all.
However, jokes aside, I simply adore the female mini and it\'s perfect pose for the theme. I have not seen it before and am interested to know whether it is a commercial mini and if so....who made it.
