So I was finally able to buy a decent camera. Now all I need is more experience and your help...

HERE is the best I could do with my old camera.

HERE is what I\'ve been able to do so far with my new one.

Do you have any suggestions on how I can improve my photography? Right now, I\'m getting an aweful red cast to everything, and I don\'t yet have enough skill with Photoshop to do anything more than \"Auto Levels.\" What would be the best way to remedy this, either while taking pictures or after I\'ve uploaded them onto my computer? If it helps, I can post an example of the image before any correction.

Thanks in advance.
Scott :)

nice mini! I had not seen that one before.

I definately think you\'re getting a better image with your new camera, it\'s a touch cleaner and the colors seem sharper.

What I would suggest in photoshop would be to toy around with your color balance some. You can turn down the overall redness of the image quite simply. (although I\'m not seeing the red so much).

The red was in the original image. I did manage to remove a good deal of it, but I was still rather unsatisfied with the end result. Thanks for the tip, though.

My old camera was a 3.1 Mp Kodak with no optical zoom, no self-timer, and no manual white balance. I think the only thing I could control before was exposure compensation. To get a decent picture, I had to get relatively close (as close as the focus distance would allow) but this usually made the resulting image quite pixelated and the color was inevitably off.

My new camera is a 4.0 MP from the same company...and it has all those features I mentioned. I guess it\'s going to come down to my gaining experience and finally getting a decent photo set up...perhaps one of those light diffusion boxes.

The new picture you\'re seeing is about 35-40% of the original size (dimensions anyway) while the old one is about 1 to 1 with the size my camera saw.

I\'m not entirely sure. My camera has white balance settings like \"Tungsten\" \"Outdoor\" and \"Florescent.\" Its the exposure comp settings that use numbers like that...at least on my camera.
