New case <3

The boyfriend decided we should go to Reaper's ArtistCon weekend since he's on vacation, and suggested I bring stuff and paint so more practiced people can tell me what to do differently to improve and what-not. It takes me 10+ hours per mini so bringing more than one to paint seems pointless to me, but I only have a big-ish case (Pelican/Seahorse equipment cases with customizable foam make some pretty awesome mini cases.) I decided to make a new one out of a watch box and the little foam pieces that come in the blister with minis for when I don't want to take everything I own somewhere.

My paints, brushes, spare bases, shop towels and other random supplies are in my little artbin box, which this new mini protector also fits in :)

That's impressive, you must have good foreknowledge of your palette for the day, as I can't see getting to many paint pots in the bottom of a small Art thingie plus you box there. Hells, some of the painters that I know run around with a old hard sided briefcase packed with paints and what nots.
Minimart, no. Who would what to risk a 30 plus dollar purse on the fickle nature of GW paint pots? I seen makeup explosions, and those can be nasty, but water soluble-ish. Plus, purses are the second cousins to black holes, good luck finding anything. :smile-big:

$30 on a purse?! That is better spent on a handful of minis or one nice LE/larger scale piece! I may spend an hour making a Hello Kitty mini case, but that was things I had sitting around already. :p

I do have a huge paint box, but I pick what I will need while I'm out and my little travel box has treated me well so far. However, I avoid GW pots like a flesh rotting disease for just that reason! Well that and because they are just impractical to measure paint out of without buying a dropper, but then I'd have to wash that between each color. My paint supply is shared with the bf (he's been at it for years but no account here yet) and he swears GW has colors no one else makes, but I'll do without :D

Vallejo Game Colour or Coat D'Arms paints.
CD'A were GW's original supplier and VGC are a match for GW's line (both hold long OOP paints as well) and the cost is benficial to a mini addict.

I'm not much of a painter myself. :p Really what I do is compulsively collect minis and occasionally ruin someone's perfectly good sculpt with my questionable (at best) mess.

I tend to use a cut cocktail stick to put paint onto my palette from GW and P3 pots. Only needs to be wiped with some kitchen towel so a lot more practical than a dropper and easily as accurate.
