New conversions for 40K and sketches.

Your sketches are excellent, and to see them come to life is amazing, well done.

I\'ve left a couple of comments on Lord Dante, and gave Valdor a 10, spot on with that model.

I would love to see just one of your 40k miniatures painted, all of the painted figures in your gallery seem to be fantasy, not sci-fi.

Nice....Damn i\'m jealous  I do have a couple of suggestions though.

I feel the GS around some of the gems are a little too thick and doesn\'t really look like they are attached to the armour but just placed on. (lysanders shoulders)

Also the text looks a little too rounded. I\'d prefer if they had a flatter look to them.

They do look cool though...better than what i could do :( Nice drawings too.
Keep up the good work and give me one to paint....NOW! :D

The armour looks great and really fits with GW and your own concept art, but I personally feel using the moulds for cloaks and robes and other fabrics looks artificial and clumsy. They would be greatly improved by having those pieces sculpted to look more natural and any freehand painted on.

Love to get a chance to paint a Custodian but a $150 starting I\'ll leave it for now ..... time to do it myself!!

I agree with Orb here. I think the mould technique works fine for the armour parts and shields, but the fabrics look too stiff. Also it looks like some of the edges on the green parts are a bit rough. The concepts, however, are great!

I love them and personally wouldn\'t change a thing. :)

If you can knock them out at the rate you do and people are stumping up that sort of cash, then keep on with more of the same I say:D

i agree that some of the fabric looks a little stiff. but the rest is brilliant. they all look dynamic and imposing (the way sm\'s ought to be)

The only complaints i have are mold lines on plastic parts (pet peeve of mine) and finger prints on Green stuff...someone buying an expensive peice like this wouldnt like to have to sand and file out finger prints....

For starters I really love your concept sketches.. the art is quite nice.

As for your conversions, in the beginning I thought what you were doing was quite clever but I fell its becomming your \"crutch\" something that your relying to much on and not improveing your skill as a sculptor because of them. Id use less stamps and more sculpting skills and use the stamps as a tool to add to your work.

Scibor gets plenty of sculpting practice on his own stuff I\'d say. Why waste precious time on stuff that you\'re churning out to flog?

Completely agree, Scott, and as long as someone will bid at $150 starting price (which they are) why stop and make them neat and tidy.

However, Scibor asked for our opinions and that\'s what we\'re giving.

Scibor - a question; how long does it take to produce one of these, once the moulds are cut? that is, grennstuff casting, assembly........

Thanks for opinions :)

I try to improve my techniqe if You look at my figures I also have kind of \"editions\" and I hope that my figures are now better than 2-3 months ago.
My first custodian terminator is on the top of picture , last one - bottom of picture.
I can see difference :)

god!!!

I love them...but can\'t afford them :(

So now, after paris and toronto GDs, I\'m gonna try and use Cyril\'s stamping method you linked for us (to do your style of work but manually) and see if I can pull something similar.

Not as good (no way I can sculpt like that!) but let\'s see...

Not sure what model to use as a skeleton...maybe a cut up space marine? hehe

Nice work :)

Think you can get GW to make all their marines so nice?

Uh oh!

Achem...

3. Head is copy of plastic head from GW plastic terminators pressed in silicon molds - in that box is only one head and I made mold to get some copies.
You can\'t do this Scibor - this is copyright infringement.

Yes agreed.. if it was for your own personal use it would be one thing, but since you are selling it this not a legal thing to do.. It could get you into some serious issues with GW.

Well, as I said in the comment I left somewhere... You\'re improving indeed, but all the stamped parts still lack definition. That\'s IMO the major drawback of your miniatures at the moment.
It very rapidly becomes difficult to paint a mini on which every area is not clearly defined. I fear it\'s the case there. Well, I\'ve seen a miniature of yours painted and I must say although the paintjob was excellent (painter: marga here on CMON) there were writings that were next to impossible to read.
You lack finition in fact, just a few hand-made improvements after you stamped an area could make it much better. And that\'s not hard work...

Then there is the fingerprints problem... Which could easily disappear with some more time spent on your capes I\'m sure.

And one thing that\'s absolutely awful. Clean the plastic before you use it in a conversion.

Well, I hope that helps... As I said, I like your ideas, but the way you put them in practice could be improved.

I see that pressed GW heads cause as strong emotions that I decide to spend few hours for sculpt few my own heads for my conversions. I do not like do something what could be interprets as crime.

this are my started today heads I know that they are not finished and photo is bad , but I have only few hours.
I hope that now I will do not annoy anybody by pressed GW heads

The one being annoyed in this case would be GW, should they find out you\'re copying their stuff and making money out of it! :) No one here probably cares...

These sculpted heads seem to have more character than the GW ones so everyone\'s a winner here! :)
