So I\'ve got a new D&D character. I like the background I wrote for him a lot. Basically, He\'s the governor of a tropical island! (think Governor Swan from pirates of the carribean except not a total wimp.) He\'s been kidnapped by the army of another country as a prisoner of war and is being taken to the capital for execution!! I found a Rackham model I could use for him. What do you think of this? http://www.rackham-store.com/boutique_us/fiche_produit.cfm?type=109&ref=LISP-02-02&code_lg=lg_us&pag=1&num=8

I dunno, I\'ve used Rackham minis alongside D&D minis, and they were ok. Better than most, actually, because of the relative fineness of the sculpts. Nice model, too! :)

For a true D&D game, any mini will do. Just want the base size to be right.

(I\'ve used dice to represent encounters.)

For the DDM game, the minis matter.

From Rackham itself, pretty pricey unless you want 100 euros worth of stuff, or you have a lot of friends who also want stuff and are willing share the postage. :(

Try these companies in the UK, you might have some joy:

http://www.arcaneminiatures.co.uk/ Edit: Sorry, disregard this one, he no longer has the metal minis, just the plastic ones.

Trouble is, now they\'re pushing the pre-paints, it\'s much harder to find the metal minis. If you do, tho, you might find they\'re at a discount. My two local game stores are offering reductions of 30 and 50% off the old metal lines. I\'m sorely tempted to pick up a few dirz gibbles for Hybrid- I have a lot of the cards for them in English.

Actually for the D&D mini game, it\'s the cards that really matter. Other then the base size as already mentioned. There\'s no stats on the minis like the Clix games, they are just a physical representation just like any other mini. Actually what\'s kind of nice is now WotC is offering a lot of the cards for DL. Technically they are so you can use your old mins (they put out new rules with the launch of 4e), but I find they are great for playing with mobs you don\'t actually own, especially the Rares that are way to hard to find.
