New fee structure on e-bay

I don\'t sell often so I am not sure it will affect me but I know many of you do. So I found this

http://money.cnn.com/2008/02/07/smbusiness/ebay_boycott.fsb/index.htm?postversion=2008021009

Apparently, this situation goes on for some time and CNN covers it extensively. In short, e-bay increases commission on sales and disallow negative feedbacks by seller. At the same time they decrease insertion fee and apparently making picture posting free.

Anyway, how bad it is going to be and how many of you will be leaving e-bay over this

i think it will effect more than jsut eBay sellers and users. there was mention of a 21 day hold on PayPal. that will mean it is quicker to send snail mail payment and get them cashed in some methods than it will be for people to use their PayPal money, including CMoN.

what is funny about that is that sellers will likely view PayPal differently since they cannot instantly use PayPal to pay seller fees and must spend money out of pocket to do so. i see PayPal as becoming something sellers will want to \"clear\" before shipping items now.

bad enough you have to wait extended periods up to a month for snail mail, but people paying by PayPal may have to wait 21/22 days for selelrs to send the item because they don\'t have the funds yet so they haven\'t been paid, and can\'t use PayPal to pay for the shipping for things like USPS and other online printed pre-paid shipping.

I do less and less sales on ebay and more on my web site.

The Pay Pal money hold is only for ebay sales of items deemed of high risk. Like over a certain dollar amount or high end electronics or jewlery.
