New GS - bars vs ribbon?

HI all!
Just got a \'new style\' green stuff - in two separate bars.
And what do I have here?
Blue part looks like old chued gum - hard to mix, hard to cut, when you mix it with yellow part as the result the green comes out like a rubber, some kind of dry (??) and VERY sticky... Not like old ribbon-style GS - smooth, easy to mix and work with, not SO sticky etc...

So the BIG question - is that normal for new GS?
Or I have to send it back to seller because it\'s simply BAD product?
I have an experience working with GS (ONLY with ribbon style) for at least 5 years, but never had this product in such a poor quality :O(

Hope you will help me out to understand what is going on...

Sounds like a bad batch if it is very solid and like rubber even when you have worked it a bit. I\'ve had this a few times.

Nothing to do with it not being a ribbon any more I wouldn\'t think. In theory it should be better in two parts, because when it is in a ribbon the centre where the colours meet will go off (harden) so you have to remove it, which causes Green Stuff wastage. Two separate parts means you don\'t have that problem.

The stickyness goes away after 15 min or so. I found this when I bought the bar gs. Not sure if its a different formula but the end result is the same for me.

In theory as you said :O)
But I have 3 tubes on my hands - and it\'s completely useless...

I know about it.
But for more than 5 years I\'m working with GS I never had such a poor product.
Oh no, wait! Once I was stupid enough to buy GS from GW store... It was a same sticky-rubbish-hard-to-mix GS :p

It\'s probably old! It might have been stored incorrectly by the seller and thus aging quicker. The ribbons and the bars are exactly the same product, so there shouldn\'t be any difference if the conditions are equal. The green stuff GW sells is seldom fresh so if you experience the same thing with that it\'s no wonder.

Find a reliant supplier that makes sure the product is fresh. Andy at Heresy Miniatures always keep his green stuff and other putties fresh, for instance.
