Technical issues: Plastic being easier to glue and paint than metal depends entirely on the glue you use and how dilligently you prime.
The only time I\'ve ever had a problem with paint sticking to metal was when I experimented with painting unprimed minis.
While I do not necessarily have any \'ideological\' issues -like many \'old-school\' gamers -with plastic figures per se, they do sort of convey a \'disposable toy\' image, which could lead to the horrifying sight of your 8+ paintjobs being shoveled back to after a game by the kid across the table like so many Mage Knights....
Another thing I like about Alternative Armies figures, they\'re hefty...
As far as this gamer/collector of 30+ years is concerned, legitimate uses of plastic are things like regiment boxes of rank & file troops, and dragon wings. The metal ones were always a major challenge to attach......
