Yeah, I try to avoid leaving pots open like the plague. Grab some paint, transfer to palette, close pot. The only time I'll keep it open is if it's a GW wash and I'm dunking a bunch of figs in it.

This is why I left GW paints behind and stuck with Vallejo Model Colours and Game Colours.

Agree with Buddha. Both pot designs are annoying. Either way I end up getting paint drippage in the lid, and with that get a bad seal.

I noticed the non-closing thing myself recently too, quite annoying. Plus with the new pots i cant really do this anymore:

Love the new pots for one reason. My paints no longer dry up over the course of a couple weeks. I hated that about GW's paint pots ever since they left the "white" pots way back in the day. I still have some old colors from way back that are still usable some 16 years later. None of the black lid pots have lasted even close to that amount of time. More like 16 days 
And for how expensive the paints are for how little you get, I expect them to last a long time.
I never paint out of the pot and just transfer to a palette, so these work great for me!

Yep, the old 'citadel' paints were by far the best design. I've got some I still use as well. (over 20 years old!)

yep got one of the old pots, some greenish gold colour, about 15yrs old, alive and kicking!
nowdays gw seens to develop one shitty pot after another, dont understad why they dont just cut the crap and get drop pots that 90%+ of the painters seems to prefer anyway.

Eh drop pots have problems, like the old tomato ketchup in a glass bottle problem regular london cafe goers get. "It's not coming out ... how much to I need to ....oh...OH that's fucked it..."

I agree this is one item that they should stop worrying about making the pot copyrighted and just go with what will work best. Though as stated previously kudos on finally getting back to a non porous plastic for the pot so the paint will last. Other wise I have finally just moved on to Vallejo permanently just as good/better, more paint and cheaper price. Tried the P3 stuff recently I like them to.

I like the new GW pots they are very cool especially since you can now see the color through the top...
I only find that the paint is expensive. Normally I use P3 or Vajello MC and GC and Model Air for the airbrush.
