NEW GW Skeletons vs. OLD GW Skeletons

Zombies afik are staying the same. Skellies on the other hand are completely different. For a start they are much smaller and look like they would actually fit inside someone normal rather than giants with huge hands and feet. There are ten to a sprue and from the cursory examination I gave it there are tons of extra parts making for loads of variation. The torso is still seperate from the legs but the join where the spine goes into the pelvis seems to be much bigger adding more stability than the last ones. They have a much more ragged feel to them as they have scraps of rotting rags and pieces of Conanesque armour still strapped to them. The horn is the only downer for me, nice as it is it\'s frikkin huge and looks a bit ott.

The other plastic kits are also rather nice. These include Grave Guard, Ghouls, Dire Wolves and the Corpse Cart. The Ghouls don\'t really do it for me but this may be something to do with the fact that I have tons of the metal ones and I\'m loath to change them. The other stuff though is fantastic particularly the Corpse Cart, the huge pile of rotting bodies looks like it\'s going to be loads of fun to paint.

Nice! I was thinking at first of buying some of the old skeletons as they come 20 to a box. But this sounds like the newer ones are much better.

Sweet Ghouls... would be worth a look if I didn\'t already have two dozen ^^

Oh, and I know there\'s gonna be new grave guard, but what about black knights? Will they become obsolete with the coming of the blood knights?

Those are the guys I\'m currently using as Ghasts (Ghoul command) I\'ve also got the Ghoul King with danglies as my degenerate Necromancer.

The Black Knights are still a viable option in the army book, and the existing models have been pictured in the colour section.

The blood knights are awesome (strength 7 on the charge !!!), and beautiful sculpts too. However, at 55points per mini they are a very expensive, if powerful option, so I wouldn\'t rule out Black knights just yet.

The new ghouls are loveley, and the plastic kits rock!!! They have lost the ability to skirmish, but have held on to their 2 poisoned attacks, and are the same points cost as a skeleton. The new plastic kits make them a much more financially hiable option than the older models.

And the Corpse cart IS fantastic fun to work on!
