Yeah I will try to contribute more to this site and post pics of my work in progress. And I\'m pretty sure I have a lizardman sketch somewhere, I\'ll look.

OK I\'m going to start sculpting this fellow this weekend. I\'m making it mostly for my collection, however I would like to make casts. So for gaming/display reasons, what size should I make him/her/it/whatever? Cthulhu is supposed to be big, but I don\'t want to sculpt as big as the Horrorclix fig. What is an \"average\" large mini size?
Thanks again.

Yeah, I have that Horrorclix Cthulhu and he is a very big boy....Very cool, but big.

I think if you made yours about 6 inches tall or so...that would still \'feel\' big to a 28mm fig, but not be so overwhelming that it would never get done.

What are you sculpting it from? Sculpey,, Green STuff...etc?

I\'m more familiar with sculpey, and besided I just got a new box of the extra firm grey sculpey. It\'s supposed to hold better detail (though less fingerprints will be nice) 6\" is a nice size to begin with.
The Horrorclix fig is huge. I wouldn\'t want to go against it. Unless they make Godzilla!

Welcome, man! Great \'thulhu sketch you\'ve done there... One question, though: the wings look a bit as if he had two pairs of of em. Is that right? Can\'t wait to see a sculpt of that... :D

Actually I was thinking the wings would be more like fish fins.

Lovecraft is fun to read. I especially like the Dreamworld stories. I read so much when I was in college that I dreamt that I was reading the Statement of Randolph Carter to a group of Woogs in a dark forest. When I got to that last sentence about Warren, they laughed like I was reading dirty limericks or something.

...was I, perhaps, actually in a crepuscular edlritch wood on the slopes of Kadath itself?!!! (HP would never have used three excalmation points like that)

@Voodooliz:go here before Lovecraft\'s estate sues to have this pulled off the web!

Yeah, that DagonBytes site is great...As I just started reading Lovecraft only a year or so ago, I stumbled on that site and thought I\'d just read the stories there instead of buying the umpteen books I\'n need to get....

But, there is something just more visceral and enjoyable by having a real paperback in your hands while reading...The computer seems to....cheapen it somehow.....

I used to buy all of my Lovecraft at used bookstores, purchasing only beat up paperbacks printed in the 1960\'s. That way I felt like I was perusing the stacks at the Miskatonic University library for forbidden texts.

I did buy S. T. Joshi\'s Annotated Lovecraft a couple of years ago. The notes were really interesting to me.
