Hi everyone today i spent quite a bit on my new high elf warhammer fantasy army.

I\'m just trying to get peoples view on the colour scheme. I\'m thinking on the typical white and blue, but haven\'t decided on a more turquoise blue or a regal blue?

Also going to be a winter theme, so light snowed bases, but im unsure to maybe have a darker white to match the weather?

Right onto what i bought...

Tyrion
Korhil
Cahadryan
plastic mage box set
plastic nobles box
Battle force (spearmen, archers, bolt thrower and silver helms)
15swordmasters
15pheonix guard
15white lions
white wolf chariot
a second bolt thrower

I\'ll get pictures up when i can, im currently in a busy part of my university year and also work when i have a day off. so will get pics on when i can.

Any feedback on colour schemes etc will be super appreciated

Thanks

If you\'re going for a winter theme, why not go the whole hog? A neutral or cool white, ice-blue, and grey?

Hows about something a little different? Purple and something?

I was thinking about this, a imperial purple seeing as its a royal colour, but im thinking it may be too rich with the theme i want?standing out too much?

I was thinking about this but im not 100% on the colours as really i have only ever painted deeper blues.

Also base wise what do you guys recommend?i will be using snow scatter but dont want it all too be sand then snow scatter

Yea that is a nice blue though i have seen a lighter more icier blue that i think suites winter more.

Anyway i got started on assembling some models this afternoon when i got some free time. So far a repeater bolt thrower has been made (LOL)

But im off work this weekend so im going to get the other made, as well as my silver helms, spearmen and archers (the majority of plastic out the way then as its a pain to clean)

Will try and get pics posted over the weekend.

Anybody had any thoughts about the basing method? I\'m thinking sand an small rocks painted dark brown with the snow scatter sprinkled over, thoughts?or even snow tutorials?

Thanks

Sorry if I\'m thread jacking (just ask and I will remove the pic Cleezy), but I have been working on a winter-themed HE army myself and here is my colour scheme if you need a bit of inspiration:

For my tau, i used flock and sand, painted it to look like dirt then in small patches (like snow melting) sprinkled some bicarb and that looks pretty good because it glistens like snow and its cheaper :)

Hey, stm liking the look of the elf (and your not thread jacking as all inspiration is helpful) what colours did you use for both blues?im having white as my dominant colour and pretty swayed to ice blue as the accent colour.

also monkfish thx for the base tips, im thinking along similar lines, sand and flock painted a nice dark brown with some scatter over. Any ideas on mud patches any1?

I think a cool blue and white scheme would work a treat, you can always add other colours with some freehand:D

Good luck, and i want to see that chariot when its done, I\'m hoping to get one soon when I can afford it

Yea was thinking that unit champions and characters i would freehand, but my freehand isn\'t really to good :( but i will try anyway :D

Yea the lion chariot is a real beauty, its gona be a while until it is painted (extra time will be taken for it)

got my first repeater fully built and cleaned gona move onto the second l8r (need to get a new knife seeing as mine has snapped :()

This weekend will be a long cleaning slog though, all plastic will be cleaned and glued ready for undercoating.

also the colour scheme has been decided (white/ice blue) snowed bases.

Thanks

if you meant wet mud earlier, i normally use the flock then paint it to look like mud, then put a thin coat of plastic glue which makes it look like wet mud, works for me :D

I snapped my knife too ahaha!

Hey Cleezy,

the pics aren\'t great, but the main robe colour is scaly green up to haw turquoise, while the sashes and gems were painted with Liche purple shaded with black and highlighted by adding bleached bone.

Cheers,
