New LOTR Magazine

Just wondering if anyone else has seen the new UK LOTR mag that comes with a ~5-7cm character every month. The figures are metal cast and hand painted and look as if they have a lot of detail.

I think ill be getting a couple to strip and repaint the way i want to - anyone else have the same idea? :D

Ive looked for the website but cant seem to find it - if i do ill post the link

my girl saw the gandalf close up and said my paintings better .that gives it a 6 which in todays climate aint that bad.Dont know about the sculpt though so I think Ill get the Gandalf cos its £3 the rest are £6 I think so ?
Dont know if I can pic and choose though cos I get the battle games in mid earth and the newsagent has to get every one for me.I cant say I dont want that one cos its only got 3 paints on it!

i get the battle games in middle earth to, thats pretty good, im a sub-scriber. anyway the new mag doesnt seem to good to me. the models aren\'t great and i wasnt to empressed when i saw gandalf in whsmith. so im gona miss out on this mag, however i might do as stivo said a strip/repaint them

@Fizl: That\'s the wrong magazine, there\'s a new one out, dunno if Gw has anything to do with this one

I saw the advert for it today, looks interesting. I might get the first one too since it\'s £3, £6 per issue normally is pretty expensive though, have to look at the sculpts up close....

The models arent painted that great but im sure if people stripped and repainted theyd be a lot better (not sure about my attempt :p)

Yeh, i got it the other day, the sculpting is actually pretty good, all of the details are there and there are no noticable mistakes at all, but the paint job seems well, rushed. Mine has been painted with 5 different colours only,
1 solid flesh colour,
grey for the belt,
a kind of cream for the base colour of his clothes,
white kind of highlighting the clothes and painting the hairand staff,
and silver for the sword blade
and black for the sword hilt,
I think they might be worth repainting, 3 quid really isnt bad, but i dont know about 6 quid.

Got it, repainted it. The sculping is quite nice, and for mass-production, the painting wasn\'t too bad either. I\'ll post some pics later

btw, the magazine that comes with it is really naff, just pictures with captions really, and they got those wrong, saying that Narya was one of the \'nine elven rings\', 9?! there were 3

You can see it here, didn\'t spend a huge amount of time improving it, just a couple of areas really. What do you reckon?
