New minature for me posted

I really like it. Barbed wire on the base is nice. May keep the urchins from picking it up to look at it too.

I voted and commented. Did you use the barb wire sprue from GW?

I wish that I could somehow complete a miniature, I have way too many almost finished ones.

This mini took a very long time, not sure exactly how long , I did have a break of a couple of weeks due to illness. I spent an evening just doing the white stage on one wing but white is time consuming. I try to paint ones for myself so as they look just as good really close up but to tell if I have acheived that you would really have to look at it in person.
@Drakefarstrider- Yes the barbed wire is the GW stuff I bought it years ago and hardly used it. I also have loads of half painted stuff, if I take to long of a break from doing it I find difficult to get back into it.

Here are a few more views of my swooping hawk, I wanted to have them with the rest but I had trouble posting them so I had to cut a few out. You can see the wings a bit better in these.

Very nice. Voted on it.

Only thing jumps out at me as \'not up to it\' is his left hand. Seems a bit dull and bland compared to the rest of it. On the right hand I can see the highlights, but on the elft I can\'t really see anything (could be my crappy eyes too).

Lovely job with the blues though!

Thanks for pointing that out frustrated father, i\'ll have to take a look and see if it needs fixing. It might just be the photo though.

Great result and I really do like the limited palate. Gives it that elegant simplicity.

I think it would make for a really interesting painting contest, to require that no more than 6 paint bottles were opened for the entire mini.

@ Eric J, I think that would be a great idea for a contest, i\'ve been wanting to do a minature in just black and white which would be interesting, all I have to do is find a suitable subject and some time (also some motivation might help).

I wish i could paint that way! this has nothing to do with ur skill or anything, but since the model is so bright, (as if a light is shining on it) shouldn\'t the base be almost as bright?

I painted the base that way because I had previously done a dark reaper exarch and I wanted the base the same, also in my opion if the base was lighter I don,t think the minature would stand out as much its good to have a bit of a contrast.

Have to disagree with you spike on this one as I think because the base is darker and doesn\'t stick out as much that it brings much more attention to the miniature which is what this one is all about.

Personally, I love a well done base, but more than once I\'ve seen a top notch miniature swallowed up by a too busy base and it kills it on the whole.
