New Mordheim posts

Hi everyone,

I posted a couple of minis today Mordheim Elf Mage and Aenur Sword of Twilight

As usual, the picture quality is pretty bad but I really would like some feedback, comments and suggestions on what to do to improve them (painting-wise). Although it probably doesn\'t show that well, I\'ve tried using blending and washes a lot more than on my previous stuff and think it shows an improvement.

Have a look if you get a chance and let me know what you think.

Cheers

Votie thingied. I too like the cleanliness of the painting. More shading in the low spots of the face would really pick things up.

The gloves on the mage look a little flat and I think you might be able to give it a bit more shading on the face.

The face on Aenur is really well done.

On both, the cloak could probably use a little more highlighting, although that could also be the quality of the lighting for the photograph.

Thanks for all the votes and comments so far. I\'m borrowing a better camera from work so hopefully I\'ll be able to put up some more true-to-life pictures soon. I\'m surprised at how the votings going as I feel the mage is better IRL but the photos don\'t show this.

Thanks again for the comments and please keep \'em coming.

Wow, quite surprised at how low the votes went overnight for the mage, especially as the comments I\'ve had were mostly encouraging. Apparently this is the worst I \'ve ever done! Still, as I value the comments more than the rating I\'ll still keep plodding on trying to improve and blame the ratings on my poor photography ;)

Don\'t blame the photograph, blame the bad armpit smell... Oh wait, that\'s me, I better hit the showers. :drunk:

Aunur, is my prefered one, now, the face is great, the general colours are just not interesting enough, I would get the blue you have used on a pallette, get some white and mix it, graduate the highlights up, imagine the light falling from above to show you where to put the highlights.
Same with the boots etc. the sword needs some boltgun on it to tone it down a bit and make it look real
This mini shows great promise though neat and tidy painting, keep up the good work:D

I\'ve put another picture of the mage here (just started playing with photobucket today). If anyone\'s got a minute or two to spare, please take a look and tell me if you think it\'s worth replacing the existing one. My work monitor is nearly dead so I\'m finding hard to judge the quality of the picture.

Thanks,

I\'ve posted some new pics of the mage here. Not sure if they\'re much better but thought it worth trying. Please have a look and let me know what you think.

Also, I\'ve based my Aenur but haven\'t got good enough pics to post here for voting. However, if you\'re interested you can see it here.

Thanks for all your comments and feedback.
