new painting tutorial

Hi,

just updated my website Fantasy Miniatures http://www.fantasy-miniatures.de by adding my first extended online tutorial how I paint miniatures. This means 11 sites with very large step by step pictures how I painted the Freebooter darkelf rider. The pictures are so big everybody can see how I paint the miniature and they are accompanied by a very easy explanation how to do it.

If you want to check it out go to the starting site http://www.fantasy-miniatures.de and follow the link at the bottom of the site (see updates) to the English and German tutorial.

The tutorial was originally planned to appear in a magazine but I do not write for the German mondell magazine anymore and Harbinger as well as a french magazine didn\'t seem to be interested in it so this way I share it for free with anybody who cares.

Any comments or questions are welcome. If anything is not clear just tell me, perhaps I can make the tutorial even better.

All the best,
Holger Schmidt

Wow, great tutorial Holger. Sorry to hear the magazines didn\'t want your article, their loss is our gain!

Lots of great pictures, which explain the process very well. Excellent! :D

Top quality stuff Holger!

But why didn\'t you just pin the rider onto the creature in stead of glueing it on?

That wasn\'t necessary, there were enough touching parts between the rider and the lizard, this way simple glueing with superglue will hold them together.

Great you all seem to like the tut.

great tutorial. That is a unique way of painting NMM, very pastel looking, but looks great. i will have to try it (but i am limited to only gw colors, so shadow grey should work for the silver)

by the way, i love that lizard!

keep up the great work!
